    Crystal Cover/Watch Bra!

    Hi All
    Has anyone tried THESE.

Thinking of getting a few ,but just wondering if I'd be wasting my money.
I have used similar things with good results on Mobile phone screens ,but concerned that when used on Domed Crystals(albeit only slight) that they will left at the edges and look pretty bobbins.

    Opinions please.

Looks like the same stuff that is sold to protect mobile / handheld console screens. Had one or two of them in that context and it really does remove easily with no residue. Also easy to get bubbles underneath. Not sure why one would want this on a watch. It doesn't feel quite right.

Had one of these that came 'free' with a Citizen diver- funny thing could never get it to sit right-( perhaps domed crystal?) used it once then took it off - conclusion - too fiddly - What would be better ( if someone made one!)would be a 'clip on' protective cover like you can get for the dive computers which you don't realise are there.

Wouldn't this be like wearing two pairs of man knickers, just to prevent skid marks :?

You could try gloopy glue that dries clear on the crystal. ELC sells some. Stuff just bounces right off it. Or if the crystal's flat, Sellotape works really well.

You can use brown packing tape around the clasp if you like. Kind of like one of these, but for your timepiece:

...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

There seems to be a growing selection of sapphire crystals available, meaning that you can replace your mineral crystal on an Orient "Mako" (for example) with a sapphire. That would seem the best alternative for an enthusiast - try and find a sapphire replacement. :)

Mate of mine buys expensive Rolex and leaves the stickers on to protect them............also makes them look very dull.

Pointless. Touch wood, in the fifteen years I have been collecting and wearing my watches I think the worst I have ever done is put a pin-prick sized mark on the AR coating a crystal when an aircraft window fell out of its runners onto my watch. Sapphire crystals need quite a knock to leave any kind of serious mark and if they are marked you can get them changed during a service.

I can see the point of LCD protective stickers on phones etc but not on a watch crystal!

I'd rather enjoy my watches than stick crap to the face.
