A lot of cheap quartz movements are not always designed to have the stem removed, that said what happens when you push the bit that says "push" on the plate.
Hi folks,
The title says it all.
There dosn't seem to be the usual button or spring release,,,,

Hi Ben,
Thanks.
That's the first place I looked,,,,, but can't actually see how or where to push,,,, or anything that seems to 'release' anything.
I tried this on a previous VX3J & ended up lifting part of the 'fork' assembly. I did get it out, but this can't be the proper way (can it ?).
This one is for a friend, so I don't want to bugger it up.
Even if I need to get a new movement, I still need to be able to remove / replace the stem.
More info would be appreciated chaps.

Try moving the stud A ... in the direction B.
(And not down ... as in, towards the dial.)

Thanks John,
That stud moves when the stem is pushed in & out.
The cam that it's in also moves up'n'down.
When the stem is right in, that stud is at one end,,,
When the stem is right out, that stud is at the other end,,,
When the stem is half in & half out, guess where the stud is ?
None of it seems moveable for my purpose.
Anyone know of an Epson www site or help-line ?
thanks folks for trying.
.
 How about pushing the stud 'down' towards the dial (to realease it from its track)?

Maybe this?
(Sorry, do not have a clue  )
Click the stem out to the hand setting position (or back in to the running position, I'm not sure which) and this will expose a dimple. That is where you 'push'.
There will be a small depession in the lever, which is exposed in the open quadrant, push down in the depression towards the dial, and pull stem out carefully.
Good luck
