    RIP David Wilkie

Another of my childhood heroes gone. I so wanted to swim and be like like him he inspired me so much. Very sad news, 70 which is no age.

    RIP David Wilkie

One of my first memories of the modern Olympics, the 200m breaststroke he was on a different level to the rest, also Scottish and retired at the peak of his powers, RIP and yes no age

I met him when I was 12, he presented me a swimming award. I had no idea who he was, but he was very pleasant, friendly and encouraging in his words to me. My dad told me afterwards who he was.

I read yesterday that he was also a very successful business man after his swimming career. The guy achieved a lot in his life, and seems to have been a winner at everything he turned his hand to.

    RIP, no age at all.
