Swapping Jubilee from vintage DJ to GMT

apologies if this is a dumb question, but I recently purchased a vintage 1979 datejust Ref. 68274. I'd like to put it on a leather strap as the combination of jubilee plus fluted dial is a little blingy for my style. But that also feels like wasting a sensational bracelet, so I thought about putting it on my 1985 GMT Ref 16750.

Is this possible? I gave it a go but had issue with the spring bars and I think I'd need to order a different size. But before I do that, I wanted to know if this is even possible? Since they're both from roughly the same era, I thought it might be ok.

    cheers

It can be done but you’d need different flush fits (end pieces) ref: 555 if I remember correctly.
Someone with a better memory than mine will be along to advise I’m sure.

Ok thanks, sounds like a bit of a faff around so might just leave it then.
