Nice catch Jase, I've given up on our local boot sale - more traders there than ordinary sellers.
Doesn't happen this well much these days, but wow, today was a good day, in amongst a table full of junk fashion crap watches was this, a January 1974 6139 6012, Its on a non Seiko funky bracelet which on first glance is is awful but its kinda growing on me for the '70s vibe, ( won't ever fit me though ) its running well, keeping good time, the bottom right pusher is stuck down and the sub dial isn't ticking round, needs a crystal but its not too terrible, so far its resisted my efforts to spin the back off, but Ill keep trying.
I couldn't get my £4 out any faster than I did.
Beautiful sunny day and the best boot sale pick up in a very long time, in fact it could be my best spend to value deal to date.
Cheers..

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Result !.
One find like that a year makes up for all those months when you don't find a damn thing.
Hopefully the bottom pusher is stuck in simply due to grime
That’s a result!
It should clean up well
Result Jason!
Living up to your 'Jammy Jason' moniker mate
Gosh what a lovely pick up!
Love an old Seiko!
Cheers all, Im still grinning.
Cheers..

Nice! The stuck pusher is likely down to the gasket having hardened so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. The non-working sub dial might just be the spring that rests on the minute counter wheel needing a slight adjustment, but it could also indicate the finger on the centre chrono wheel has broken off and a good s/h centre wheel was over £100 last time I checked. Still, for four quid...
Here's a good article about that particular variant - https://www.gq.com/story/bruce-lee-seiko-6139
Thanks for the link.
I hope the seconds hand is ok, its actually moved a few seconds since Ive been wearing it ( compare the two photos ) so hope a tweak might be whats needed, I still can't get the casebook to budge one jot so it might have to stay this way for a while!
Cheers..

Fantastic find, Jason. Good to hear that there are still gems out there to be discovered.
Don't just do something, sit there. - TNH
You jammy so and so. What a cracking find.
Try the bosses hair dryer to get the back off.
Nothing beats finding a bargain out in the wild. Hope it’s relatively straightforward to fix up, and I think the bracelet suits it well !
Really good find Jason , hopefully you can get the back off .
I picked up a nice little steel Doxa 50s watch the other week at our local one 2.00 paid . Setting lever spring gone but its a nice thing
You annoying git Mr. Miller.
I had officially resigned from car boot trawling and getting up at stupid o' clock because there's naff all to find... then you drop this on us.
Looks like Shattered Sundays again then, for myself.
Well done mate. Lovely pick up.
Thanks all, I’ve been a bit thick, although I’ve had several 6139s over the years, I had forgotten that the sub dial is a minute totaliser and not a running seconds dial, if I keep the chrono running it ticks minutes fine, so it’s just the chrono pusher I need to sort out ( and a crystal).
Cheers..
Jase
That's an excellent find. Well done!
Score! You must be well chuffed
Excellent find Jason!
Like you I love a boot sale but decent stuff is pretty thin on the ground nowadays.
Congratulations on a great £4 buy.
Cheers,
Neil.
Looks great Jase - you need someone with a big Bertha to shift that Caseback
I’ve had some lunch with a case holder set up in a vice - do you have any of Bry’s Caseback tools ?
Jason have you tried the 'nut trick' ?
I would get a wooden tooth pick sharpen to a smaller point go round the out side first and get all the old rubbish out . Use a old toothbrush after
8 or 10 mm nut , super glue or epoxy ..... Glue right in the centre and leave overnight ..... Adjustable spanner and case holder this should open .
My guess is the old gasket has gone to goo , so your going to need some ip alcohol or thinners to get the nut and gooey gasket off
All the best with it .
