Well done, and interesting. If you go on FR24 you can see it for yourself.

Without the ICAO id or registration I'd probably have quite a hunt once they have moved on and mixed with other aircraft.

Just had a A400m over at about 5000 heading in to Northolt
Looking at flight radar it’s Cameron coming back from Italy

Edit looks the the winds cause it to go around

Surprised he's in an A400. Wonder who trumped him and is using 32 Sqn's Falcons.

He was pictured in the news getting out of one yesterday on his way there

No idea why use that, possible U/S on other types or others using them

Edit: I have found out why he was on an A400. The VIP transports the RAF now operate do not have defensive kit. Not even flares or chaff

A spitfire or hurricane just looped the loop above our house.
It arrived fairly low so the noise drew me out, and he went up

That was my thought, too. It looks as though he was on a busy road and somewhat screened from the airfield, so less likely to be picked out...thankfully.

The runway threshold was about 1/2 mile away and I was standing next to the Greek equivalent of the M1
    There was no issue.

    Air traffic over the Uk

An infrequent easterly wind, so all African and South American flights from Heathrow take off to the East and screech over our house at 5000ft.

Only these destinations take a sharp right hand turn after climbing out of Heathrow.

I can now guess which flights they are by the noise, as I now know which routes have the older planes with older nosier engines.

The older 777-200LR at 10pm to Rio makes a right racket as does the 777-300ER Latam to Sao Paolo.

We don’t get any noise on the usually westerly take off direction, which is over 95% of the time.

BA251 is two hours late and has missed 11.30pm curfew, taking off near midnight. No point me trying to sleep until this one screeches past as bedroom windows are open

Last flight out is usually before 11pm, so this one fully laden is going to wake a few people up.

SQ321 currently in the news had a significant drop in height between 0807 and 0809 hrs UTC.

Very sad there was a loss of life.

    Sad indeed.

Wiki already has a page...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singap...nes_Flight_321...for this flight.

Yep, seem to have been on the easterlies a lot more frequently over the last couple of weeks. I guess your other issue is that on the easterlies, Heathrow only uses 09R for departures. When on the westerlies, the runway changes at 3pm.

    Oh bugger.

My wife was on TK69 last night - from Bangkok to Istanbul, the flight was through the same area, but luckily a few hours earlier than this incident. She then had a flight from Istanbul to LHR this morning. She should reach home in a few hours. I'll find out when she gets home how rough the flight was.

    Edit
Her plane and SQ321 would have passed each other between Bangkok and Istanbul. On her flight there was nothing untoward. The seat belt lights went on a couple of times, and there was some minor turbulence.

Departure for the next leg, Bankok to Suipan, is expected shortly

How long the court proceedings will take and which flight he will take from Saipan to Australia are as yet unknow (to me at least).
As shown in the post replied to, he has now taken off from Bankon and is expected on US Territory around 21:15 BST.

Half caught on the radio news in the background this lunchtime, "...the flight which will cost around half a million (pounds?)... and is being funded by his family...".

According to the news reports that I have seen the charter was paid for by the Australian Government and the cost is now owed to them.

It seems that he has now landed on US Territory and so one can only hope that the plea deal holds up.

He's due in court at midnight UK time. Then the plane is scheduled to leave shortly after 02:00 UK time and to arrive in Canberra AU around 09:50 BST.

New trials set to help unlock drone deliveries and inspections in the UK:

    At a glance:

    • Regulator announces organisations set to take part in new trials which will see drones used in everyday life.

    • Projects in the trial include testing drone deliveries to consumers, inspections of infrastructure and flights to remote locations.

    • It comes as the regulator makes progress on plans to modernise UK airspace and enable integration of new technology in our skies.

Six projects have been selected for trials under a new UK Civil Aviation Authority scheme that will test drone use in deliveries, inspections of infrastructure, emergency services and flights to remote locations...

Saw one at the DeHaviland museum and was surprised to learn how much plywood was used in its construction, although earlier DH models were similarly built.

Fairford was my assumption and that's confirmed by this site that lists RQ4B 11-2046 as having arrived yesterday. They also say that two of the three visiting U2s flew out today...but no sign of them on the tracker.
