I’ll be ditching Sonos as soon as I can get another speaker. The app is terrible. Will be looking for something with a simple Bluetooth connection.
Just installed the new app upgrade and now have issues.... my Amazon Music subscription has gone along with the widget.
The new app looks over complicated and messy to use.
Anyone else having issues?

I still have to use the old S1 app as I have a device that isn’t supported by S2. Puts me off buying any more newer gear as not sure that will be S1 compatible.
I never use the app beyond setup and updating firmware in the units. Just use the native streaming app that connects through to Sonos instead.
Not updated it yet, hesitant to now!
I still can’t solve why sounds stops coming out of random speakers on & off and the only way to solve it is turning them all off and then back on again. Nothing in my house stutters with WiFi & I’ve followed their advice and hard wired one speaker to my router.
Ok just updated as I’m heading into a conference call so could fiddle if it went wrong.
Everything worked fine with Deezer & Sonos Radio. I don’t use Amazon Music but have it, when I install it, the service is there and it’s connected but cannot search for anything & get an Amazon music error message.
Glad the app has returned to black though!
I’m Amazon Music too. Same issue. Everything else is working fine as far as I can tell. AM works via the AM app ok tho.
I find the Sonos app to be flakey.
Often I fire it up and it can’t find any of my speakers.
Then randomly it will.
Is the S1 app more stable?
Can you play over your sonos from the Deezer app?

I've wasted 3hrs to get back online with my Sonos components.
I've had to factory reset everything, wrote to their MD to tell him what I thought of the app (crap).
Regarding the Amazon Music it's an outage and Sonos 'are working on it'.
I wouldn't advise upgrading till some issues are sorted.
I've always thought that the Sonos app (for iOS) is poor. Sonos need some good HMI (Human Machine Interface) experts to simplify it. HMI is a huge thing in the aircraft industry, particularly military aviation and Apple, on the whole, do it extremely well.
I have recently ditched Apple Music after its free offers expired (6-months free when you by an iPhone, iPad etc. and I had two back-to-back) and gone back to Spotify.
Rod, given that this is your area of expertise, I assume you'll be heard by the MD. Very frustrating.

Unbelievably the new app does not have the ability to set or control alarms.

All working now. I did nothing. Just waited.
Had to add radio paradise which was missing from tuneinn and add tuneinn itself, both needing to sign up on their websites. Volume wasn’t working and had issues switching streaming services from the app. Seems to be a bit more stable now.
So far everything is okay with mine although I’m trying to add a Symfonisk Bookshelf speaker (the Ikea one) and it keeps getting to the final stages of setup but not adding it to the network. I’ve not used this particular speaker for over a year so I’m not sure if it’s related to the app or not?

I'm now having a problem where I can't move music from one room to another. I started a playlist in one room, added another room fine but I can't remove the first room. It constantly returns to the first room +1. Its like the initial room is immovable.
I've given the app a 1 star review and raised a support ticket.
Sonos have ruined themselves with a poor quality app.
I never used to have a problem several versions ago, but recent upgrades have made the experience very poor.
Upgraded mine last night, not had a proper punt yet.

Upgraded and no issues.
I can throw music around by choosing the room or selecting everywhere. No issues at all

I received the new iOS app yesterday; lost all access to my music library. It's the usual dog's dinner of an interface. I've been forced to install the Sonophone app to gain access to my music library via that but need to spend time setting it up. Do these people test their products against more than one use case?
Installed it and at first thought it was ok. After using it however it is staggering how they have missed out core functionality - sleep timers and alarms have gone - Alarmss in particular was something I used a lot to wake up to Radio Paradise. Radio Paradise did not work at first had to delete and then re-add the service. The biggest omission for me seems to be the inability to queue songs on the fly. On the previous app you could serch for a song on any of the available services and then add it to the play queue, doing this you could create a long play queue on the fly. As far as I can see there is no ability to do this in the new app. Useability of the new app is awful. Thank god I have Roon which provides all these facilities
Missed the fact alarms have gone, bloody annoying as like those set for my cat to hear voices from the radio when we are away. Amazing they would remove that & I now need to buy a cheap radio & timer, such an advancement in tech.

Has Sonos responded to the backlash?
'Against stupidity, the gods themselves struggle in vain' - Schiller.
If you look at the most recent reviews on the Apple app store its a sh1t show. Nothing higher than a 2 mostly 1’s everyone is incandescent with range on the stupidity of releasing an app that controls potentially thousands of pounds worth of audio equipment. Schoolboy error doesnt even get close!
If you are on Android you can sideload the old version and revert to that.
I have done that and will stay on the old version until the new version has at least a modicum of functionality restored to it.
Another annoyance is for those of us on S1 is the endless reminders that there is an upgrade (to S2) and then states the there are incompatible products- stop nagging me!

My system has stopped working completely this morning, can’t start from app or manually.
Deleted and reinstalled app with no success and no support available till Monday.
The app is now fully working for my use case but it’s not intuitive or fluid in places. For example, if I switch to a different set of speakers, it doesn’t automatically switch the “now playing” panel at the bottom. To do that I then have to go to “my system” and select the currently playing speakers. Sure they’ll spot that.
It really is a pile of poo
You can’t start a tidal artist radio from the app you can play the first song or any song but you can’t start the whole queue playing.
There is no ‘queue next/add to end of queue’ either!? FFS, you have to hit play on each track.
Why did they release this and kill half the useful features?
Anyone not getting any Spotify podcasts in S1? For some reason when I use the Spotify app it keeps stopping after a few mins.
Had to update it to switch the default service from Spotify to YouTube music. Not the best update. Thankfully I don’t use alarms and mostly control Sonos via Google Assistant and casting from within Spotify
