Come on Matt - you know you want to

Looks great, very nice place to work. Out of interest, how are you getting on with the keyboard?

Thanks, and I love it. Wouldn't think of using the Apple keyboard now.

With only 2 colours in the house touching up is very easy!

Some see it as dull, but it’s bright and airy in the rooms & just a light steel colour for the hall & landing.

As mentioned before, I’ve got so many hue bulbs I can change most main living spaces to any colour I fancy. Truth be told we do it less these days as found the ones we enjoy the most.

Damn, it’s that good then? My issue with any keyboard is being a numbers man I need the keypad, which means visually the keyboard will always look offset to the right to make the actual keyboard typing area central. Really winds me up, even more than when your monitor was offset lol.

Is the TV functional in that position or do you move the laptop to view it?

I’d say that set up is prime for a bit of a rejig.

Can be quite useful for a cheeky Homes under the Hammer in the background.

I like a quite simple set-up. I like a stream deck that gives me physical buttons for apps like zoom and automatically change based on what I am doing.

Yes, been looking at those too. Can't quite commit for some reason, though.

Looks like you can use an old ipad or android playbook with the software only………..

Looks useful if you still are office-orientated and have a few Office apps, zoom, teams etc all running.

That is interesting, will have to have a look at that. Although do like the idea of an actual button.

One new addition to my desk…. Poppy (one of our many rescues) has taken to sitting with me a lot now. Here she is demonstrating her ‘high five’ party trick

Great to see some setups here - there's a real rabbit warren you can go down on youtube, with this being something that popped up last week. Anyone fancy building one?!! Very impressive project.

I agree that it's very impressive but he does seem to spend quite a bit of effort solving problems that he's created himself. I would have thought that the primary value in that type of stealth PC desk would be something that also doubles as a dining table and installing a massive bank of fans across the "back" edge isn't going to fit that use case.

In other news I've come to the conclusion that the Keychron keyboard was a mistake. I like the solidity but there are downsides

    1. Battery life is poor compared to a Logitech with AA/AAAs. 3-4 days before it needs charging - I just find that annoying, particularly as there is no obvious technical way of monitoring battery life (there is some key sequence you can do on the keyboard but that's equally annoying). It just dies on you.
    2. I find it a bit laggy (I have it connected by bluetooth). I use Alt-Tab very frequently and it seems to be particularly poor at picking up that command. Equally as a bluetooth device it is not present in BIOS so you have to go back to the laptop keyboard if you want it to be available at this stage of the boot process.
    3. As it connects via bluetooth rather than to the bluetooth dongle I have in my docking station I have to re-pair it if I want to plug in my personal laptop into the docking station. I realise they do offer a USB dongle as well and this may solve the BIOS availability but there is only so far down the rabbit hole I am willing to go (speaking of which - the amount stuff out there concerning switches is mind-boggling and mostly created people with too much time on their hands. I'm interested (I kept an old HP keyboard running for easily 10 years after the end of its natural life) but I'm not that interested.

Looks like I'll be going for the Logitech mechanical keyboard (for PC, obvs).
