Just learnt that the Manor Farm Cafe at Bellerby has new management. The hours and menu have slowly built up and it seems to be fully operational now.
I always supposed that once I progress from my 125 I'd be getting a top box, now I know for sure.
The underside of the bag has a strap that can go under the removable pillion seat.
Annoyingly those slots are far too narrow to fit anything in. I had been counting on them without having taken a proper look. Oops. Having learnt that lesson, have now checking that the straps are long enough to complete an across, down, under and up circuit of the tail.
The day I load up and travel, I'll have oodles of time, so I'm sure trial and error will get it to a satisfactory arrangement
I personally would be cautious of securing a roll bag solely to a removable pillion seat.
The latching mechanism is normally a spigot with a recess going into a hole which has a slider catch enabling removal and refitting. In proper use the pillion has someone's derrier pushing it down. The leverage and potential push back from you on the riders seat could be enough force to detach the seat and roll bag.

There's the underside strap going under the locked down pillion seat.
There will be two straps going to and from the rear corners of the bag, ducking under the tail by two different routes.
From each of the two front corners will be straps going down the sides of the bike.
I would buy a rear rack to give better options.
I have lots of bags that have mounting points,D rings etc.

Acknowleging that DA isn't doing that - you are right. I have a small topbox that is bolted to a spare pillion pad on my R-1 (bought as an assembly). I used it once and was very much aware of the upward momentum of the box and that it was only the latch holding it in place. Not used it since. (must bung it on facebook marketplace) but even on soft bags, - anything under the seat is just a slight security addition.
Good securing of a soft bag using a combo of lightweight webbing straps and strong bungees is the order of the day. Usually the webbing straps need slight adjustment as the bag relaxes.
I'm a huge fan of Raptor Straps. I got a bunch from Costco years ago. They have the benefit of gripping the cargo as well as tying down. Great for cases of beer on the 'supermarket run' on the pillion. They also appear to be impervious to UV degredation - I had one on my wheely bin lid for years, and on my trailer anti-theft bracket. Link them together if you need extra length. Soft ends - better then hooks or carabiners.
Think you can get them in blue & red also.

On Monday, I'll be taking a daytrip to the Forest of Bowland from Hawes. It'll be less than a 120 miles as I want to save energy for a longer trip to the North Pennines the next day. Hopefully a pleasant pootle around some wild country. Every single cafe seems to be shut on a Monday, except for one in Bentham. And the M6 services near Dolphinholme. Loos in Dunsop Bridge hurrah.
Could call at supermarkets? Booths is the posher one in those areas

When I was a student in the 70's my sole mode of transport was a t120 650cc Bonneville .
I may be (re) viewing the memories through rose-tinted specs but I recall it being quite a nice handling bike ( by 70's standards)
However after an impulse buy last w/e I shall no doubt find out :-

Thanks - yes it is an original Silver Jubilee model with the "J" stamped after the engine number etc. A lot of these were bought and stored but this one has been ridden (15k miles) and as such it has been refurbished a bit by the last owner who as had it for 10 years . Electronic ignition was fitted along with Stainless steel rims and spokes , new chainguard etc and these along with the mudguards were carefully repainted in the original jubilee colours .
The tank was original but if you look closely at the pic you'll see it's a bit tatty so the tank is presently away at the chap who did the mudguards / wheels etc for refurbishment .
Well spotted - the Jubilee did indeed have chromed chain case etc and also the rear light bracket which are "OKish" but I will probably buy new ones and send them away for chroming over the winter which , when fitted, should make the bike pretty presentable

I have SW_Motech Blaze sports panniers for my S1000XR that are not too dissimilar.
Spent the day putting new rubber-shod rear wheel on my S1000XR, then changed the front tyre and bunged that on the bike................

New Michelin Road 5 on the bike, so they should last a week in southern Brittany and two weeks in the Provence alps. (5,000 miles is about their limit).
Happiness is new tyres !
These are Hepco & Becker. They do the same fitting kit but with a slightly bigger bag, but I only need them for a few drinks, and snacks and some spare gloves, puncture repair kit and maybe some throw on waterproofs. So should do the trick for my needs. 👍
Just back from a pre bike meet bike meet with friends from up North,I took them to Caffeine and Machine.
They are staying in Long Compton for the night to get to the bike meet early Saturday then ride back.
I am putting on a bike meet tommorow (I do 2 a year now, season start and finnish).
I invited Alen Millyard who said he would come if its not raining, hopefully on his magnificent Z6, Henry cole has been invited as well.
The weather looks perfect should be a good turn out.
The 3 nicest biking days of the year so far and I'm shivering under the duvet with COVID.
IT'S NOT FAIR!
A few years ago i inherited a completely knackered R80RT in full "polite" touring dad spec from a local bike mechanic. It was a non runner, electrical issue with no power at all. The potential bill worth more than the bike so the owner just said keep it and moved on.
I found the issue(s) pretty quick but have just sort of plugged away at it in between life comprehensively ruining it to make it less dad spec.
Plan was to just sell when done but the arse has fallen out the market and it's surprisingly nice to ride.
(Still needs a front mudguard and I've since fitted the seat properly)

We're getting there, slowly but surely. The new fencing wasn't planned but the old panels all fell apart when the two sheds were taken down (I should probably have realised it would happen as they'd been up for about 25 years). Still got to have the path/ramp from the patio to the garage built, and the slab is also going to be surrounded by 18" of gravel on each side. Then we're going to do a bit of planting.
Oh, and yes - there are two ground anchors

In today's episode of mowflow goes motorbikeling I went for a rip on this "new to me" beta 300rr 2t. We don't have greenlanes here in Scotland but there's a whole lot of moorland where we live.
Quite a bit different to my old wr250f. It seems to just roll through, over or up absolutely anything you put in front f it without any drama. Also 2 stroke smell and ringdingdingding sounds.
