    Winning!

Have you tried Five Points Railway Porter? One to add to your list if not, you’ll def like it if you like the Kernel one.

After spending three days in what the locals rather misleadingly call "La Campagne" in 30+ degree heat and stupidly high humidity a cold one of these is most welcome.

    Mug and Bean Jo’burg Airport?
I do enjoy a pint of castle or three when I pass through there.
The ‘Aspire’ lounge upstairs has a ready supply of Windhoek in the fridge that often takes a beating as well!

Burgers and beers for a Saturday night!

Peterhead’s BrewToon Trawlerman Hazy Pale Ale @ 4.5%, and Loose Cannon American IPA @ 6%

Both very hoppy and refreshing, perfect to accompany the meal. They poured with very acceptable heads, but we had both got stuck in by the time I decided to take a pic!

Found this. At The Georgian Theatre in Stockton Upon Tees. At a very enjoyable Gary Numan tribute band night. The beer combined two of my favourite things (stout and coffee), in a very palatable beer. Six pints palatable in fact!

Pulled a bottle of Tring Drop Bar out of the box of delights this evening. Very tasty it is too.

And cost significantly less than seven quid.

Yes. A mix of cashew’s and peanuts. There were already a handful of almond slivers in the Lamb curry. Lubley.

Busy week, called in Granville’s Wednesday £3 cask night, had the Bad Kitty and the Auld McGowan

Friday night at Kirkstall’s Great Exhibition of Prize Ales with middle son and a couple of his mates.
Some really good beers on , food and music, didn’t take any pictures, have a look at their Instagram to get an idea.

Then trip into Leeds Saturday afternoon with Mrs T and Mavis the dog. Middle son turned out to be there too so met for a couple, said Whitelock’s was rammed ( Leeds fans drowning sorrows) so went to Brownhill & Co instead, Newbarnes tap takeover, pint of Nitro Stout and a pint of Slake.

Bus home and quick one in Kings (well it is opposite the terminus) Kirkstall Bitter.

Called in Granville’s Saturday, I had the Eagles Crag Eagle of Darkness (new brewery to me) and very nice chocolate/coffee flavour and not too sweet, then the Vocation Naughty & Nice. Mrs T had a couple of 2/3rds of the North Volta sour.

Called in at Spoonies for a pint with my brother, Worthington's Creamflow £1.99 a pint! Only 3.4% but I'm not a fan of strong beers much anyway. Often have a Shipyard at £2.99 and 4.5% as I like the citrus flavoured brews.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

This afternoons session whilst running the Braai.

Oakham Citra is a cracking pint. Up there among all time my favourites. I am glad M&S sells it. It’s even better from the cask.

No dinner tonight as the missus is out, so stepped off the commuter train and turned left instead of right.

Oakham Bite the Bullet Stout. Really rather good. Toasted malt and a lovely bitter and sweet combination.

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

Trying a few local(ish) IPAs tonight in the sweltering heat of Athens ..

With 500+ on the menu I may not be able to make this experiment statistically significant…

Not 'tonight', but I had a pint of 'Rushmoor Ripper' on Saturday (a belatedly Birthday/early Father's Day meal with some of the family) and it was excellent.

Really tasty, but not heavy and brewed locally to the pub I drank it in.

It's probably not widely available, but highly recommended.

Went to Whitelock’s Thursday night with one of my Sons for a talk by Mike of Tours of Leeds about the history of Whitelock’s (father’s day pressie). Very interesting and informative talk aided by the 5 1/3s of beer included in the price. There is the beer festival on until Sunday of Leeds area breweries so plenty of choices. After talk had to have a pint of the Timothy Taylor’s /Whitelock’s collab 1715 Stout which is an absolutely cracking beer.

Probably the first evening of the year when it's nice enough to sit in the arbour and watch the fish in the pond.

Haven't had Black Sheep Milk Stout for a long time and it doesn't disappoint.

Walked the dog (Mavis) and a friends dog who we are looking after for a few days, with Mrs T last night and came back down Town Street on way home and turns out Tuesday is £3.50 cask day at the Kings, so had call in for one!
    Kirkstall Bitter, good as usual.

Just cracked open a can of Fortnum & Mason IPA, as provided in the hamper I received as a generous gift from ex-colleagues. I was put off at first, it's a bit hoppy which is not my sort of thing. But after a few tentative sips, I quite like it. A bit different from my usual Leffe or San Miguel, or Asahi.
