Looking for some opinion’s from the TZ guys who love their bikes.
I’m set on a Thruxton and love the look of the FE but I’ve recently discovered they made the TFC and again it’s a work of art.
Torn on which model to go for.
Thruxton TFC.
Thruxton FE.
If you had the choice which one would you go for please? I’m pretty sure I know which one I’d like the most but keen to hear some different thoughts to my own.

Tough choice ! But - I think I'm landing on the side of the FE.
Are the bars and pegs the same on each?
If they ain't the same, I suspect the FE will be more comfortable - as well as being (slightly) better looking.
The FE all day long.
Having owned a TFC (bobber) I’d say that it’s a bit more special than the FE. Even now you can’t buy the parts for any TFC unless you can prove ownership. It was a proper limited run and came with a special binder showing the build etc etc.
In saying that, my mate with the Thruxton R with a fairing is now struggling with the riding position and I suspect I’ll be removing the nose cone and fitting higher bars sometome soon.
In conclusion I really believe the TFC to be more special than the FE, but I suspect actually riding the bikes, the FE will be more usable and it’s still a special bike.
If riding position isn’t important I’d toss a coin.
Well, I've arranged to pick my bike up on Friday week... I think it very unlikely that I'll not be able to operate the gear shifter, even if I have to raise my foot to change up instead of my toes.
I've also agreed costs for a host of works in the garden, including the provision of either a 12x16' garage at the end of the garden or an 8x10' shed adjacent to the patio. If I go with the garage the cost will be about £5k more (the shed and garage themselves are about the same price, but there's some associated work that'll need doing if I go with the garage), so I just need to make a quick decision on which.
That’s great new Tony, hopefully the weather will kind and you can enjoy the summer.
Excellent news Tony, I would definitely say the bigger garage but easy when it’s not my money! Look forward to seeing you back on the road.
The CB isn’t a bad place to stop. The food was always reasonable. In the 60s and 70s it was the place to go if you had a bike and wanted a good night out if you lived in the dales. So my ex fil said.

It’s exactly like a Rolex vs a cheaper alternative Tony. Buy the shed and you’ll regret the garage. Buy the garage, cry once

Go for the garage Tony, the cost is soon forgotten where lack of space isn't!
Have to pay them 5k on that. Will hurt for a while but the other option will taste sour forever.
First mini-tour of the year, down in the Brecon Beacons. Lovely weather, and great to be out and about.
How many of you TZ bikers are only running one bike?

Had the K0 out for its first run of the year after its winterisation, it was good to be out and about.
I'd love to have a go of one of those Honda CB750s, on a hot summer day - on an easy ride to a cafe.
They are from an era well before my riding 'career', but right at the begining of my interest in bikes.
FE of the two
Quite common to see plates like that & I'm equally amazed they don't get pulled.
Good news & go for the garage. Apart from the usefulness, it will add value to your house
Since selling my track bike, me.

Wanted - Damasko DC57
I never have more than two bikes these days.
Currently a couple of BMW’s.
1600GT SE for local stuff.
C400X also for local stuff.
At present. If I had to sell one, I have no idea what it would be.
Always been into big fast bikes.
However.
The recently purchased C400X has been a real eye opener.
Love the big heated seat. Storage. Ease of use. Plus, with a real world 78 mpg.
I can see myself using it more than the 30mpg car.
I took the new beast, the KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo, for a test ride today:
I thought the gen 2 that I had was mental, but this one is absolutely barking.
Thankfully the extensive electronics kept it pretty much under control.
Still a great engine, but the ergonomics and ride are a bit too sporty for me.
I’m the same with the TMax. I put it away a few weeks ago as I’d taxed my Speedmaster, but this afternoon I got it out and went to a local bike meet, heated seat and grips, weather protection (it was raining) and 60+ MPG. I really enjoyed the ride despite the cold and rain.😎
Only one for me.

well my MT10 seems to be sold and it looks like i'll be without a bike for the next 3/4 months :( , in better news ive decided that its going to be a 1000xr next for me asap - the MT 10 was a great bike and if the tank held a few more ltrs i'd get one again , mpg i dont care about but filling up every 100 miles or so is a pain in the harris -going past a petrol station with an MT10 when you are breaking new ground is like playing russian roulette - i had range anxiety like most electric car owners :P

Even the S1000R has sig better mileage than the MT10.
The XR is a brilliant bike though - I think I have covered around 30,000m on my two ser1 XRs - and haven't seen anything better for what I want - General tooling about and holidays to the Pyrenees/Alpes each year. 210m tank range on steady 70mph Peage days and carries luggage well.
