I know it won’t be to everyone’s (anyone’s?) taste but I really like this! €3.5k is pretty punchy though.

The new Omega chrono is just shy of 2cm thick. That is mental.

It would be interesting to seem some pictures of it on wrist. Not sure how it doesn't look stupid, really.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve wished a 40mm watch was 38mm, but this is the first time I’ve seen a brand actually shave off 2mm, instead of making a 36mm alternative that wears too small.

I can’t say the pink and pale green dials are for me, but knowing GS, another dial will be along sooner or later.

They’ve got my attention with this.

That’s my favourite GS case and as you mentioned the 40mm wore just a little too large as it lacks a bezel.

Gimme a spring drive and a darker dial and I could be one and done.

You can get a U50 with a tegimented case and bracelet.

The grey one isn’t that interesting but much better value than the ludicrously overpriced titanium model they released a few months ago.

And dare I say not terrible value for money at £6,700.

That looks really nice with the grey dial/bezel and fully brushed case. Perhaps my favourite PO so far.

I’m definitely going to take a closer look when it comes out but sadly being a boutique only edition there’s no finance options.

I like it, but that La Joux Perret movement (owned by Citizen) is, by the looks of it, a Miyota 9015 with fine regulator.

Shame there's no sapphire window for 499,- Euro's (RRP).

Got the call from the Omega AD that they had their first stock of the new boutique only Planet Oceans.

I was on my way out for lunch so thought it was worth a short walk and a chat.

Came away slightly besotted with the beige version after initially assuming this wouldn’t get a look in.

Liked the green bezel on that version but the contrast with the silver dial too much so instantly dismissed that one.

The ‘standard’ grey one was very nice but felt it was a bit vanilla and also the lack of contrast for the 3, 6 & 9 markers meant they looked a bit lost.

Also I loved the fact the beige version has a lovely lume on the bezel which the other colours don’t have. And probably explains the extra £400.

But am I brave enough to buy a beige watch?

Looks great to me, desert sand I'd call it.
Lovely & love the fitted strap. Would look great on the bracelet too.
    Go for it.

It’s a shame they don’t do finance as would like to spread the cost.

Also unlike some jewellers they don’t offer a free watch winder or £350 voucher for a new strap.

But they would offer a free service which is worth £595 and entry to an amateur golf tournament which has eventual prize of a holiday at the Omega European Masters in Crans Montana!

Thanks for bringing those to my attention. I had a vintage mechanical one, and still own my grandad's three-hander.

  22. #1072
"Rotary Aquaplunge" sounds like a Viz advert for a loo brush contraption though

  23. #1073
Ha. Makes as much sense as many other newer watch names, I guess!

I like the look of the REISSUE 1971 VELOCITY although at 36mm a bit small for me personally. Price is £165.

Revolution is releasing a follow up to its 2019 collaboration with Sinn - the Sinn 155 S Bright Star. This time it's black coated, tegimented, with white lume and loses the syringe hands. LE of 300 for $3600 excluding taxes. I had the original but it wore a little big for me. This does look good though and if it's like the first edition, the star on the dial will be less noticeable in person.

I do like that, very similar to my first watch which would have been about 1971. The only big differences are mine was mechanical and had bolder pointed baton indices and smaller again (I was very little at the time). I think the photo below is the model I had.
Regarding the size, I think manufacturers are damned if they do and damned if they don't with reissues. Keep it the same same size and people say its too small, increase the size and vice versa.
    Thanks for sharing.

The new Timex Moon Phase Multi-function made me smile, cheap as chips, along with a salmon dial chronograph and a few others. From across the room after a negroni I’d assume vintage JLC.

New model Breitling Aerospace. Looks like 3 pushers instead of just crown. 1st model is a limited edition release - B70 Orbiter.

    Boderry Admiral GMT.

Seiko NH34 GMT movement, sapphire crystal and a 200m water resistant titanium case. How can they do it?

I DO like that too 100m wrt - new B70 movement with triple pushers. Cross between an Evo and a B-1. The battery life estimated at 2 years is appalling though!! Lets hope self-changing is as easy as before.. but looks like some specialist screw removal on the back..

I like it so much I have one on hold with Jura who have almost sold out their allocation in 3hrs... watch this space....

It seems Breitling are jumping on the Bremont bandwagon. This concept does absolutely nothing for me, nor does buying something that is commemorating something I wasn't involved with.

One of the first operational aircraft I flew is currently being cut up for keyrings...even with a genuine link to the thing, I still don't really see the point in getting one.

I do think the pushers are a step forward though. The crown thing was fiddly on the aerospace even when you acquired the knack to it!

Yes, I’ve got an Evo, and still find the single crown operation a bit of a fiddle!

I’m a self confessed ‘aerosexual’, and a once upon a time balloon pilot, and I quite like the idea of owning a bit of aviation history, albeit I haven’t seen confirmation of whether it is actually a bit of the envelope in the case back.

EDIT: Just had the Breitling email that confirms it is a bit of Orbiter 3, for better or worse.

Key rings wouldn’t interest me, but bits of aircraft stuffed into a watch or depicted on dials do get me falling for them, so Breitling and Bremont usually see me coming, and heck there’s worse things to like! :-D

I am a big Squale fan and have 16 of them but they increased their RRP by 20% on 15th Feb, which is utter madness especially as apart from some limited editions, they were always available for 15-20% discount. The new Squale Master range was originally issued as two limited editions and then this one as a new permanent addition to the line-up. Personally I'm not a fan of the colour way so is not for me but the limited edition ones are excellent. The limited edition Palombari sold out ages ago BUT for some reason Watchgecko recently got a few and I'd be tempted to get this if I didn't already have it..............

Austrian microbrand "Sphaera" has two new models, they come out tomorrow and will be around EUR1500 according to this newspaper article (it's in german):
    https://www.derstandard.at/story/300...er-eigenen-uhr
I think they are a bit too pricey tbh.

Interesting release from Christopher Ward. 39mm thermo-quartz accurate to +-10s annually puts it into GS territory, but it's 550 on strap and 715 on bracelet.

I would prefer a 3 hand but I'd like to see more of this as a cut price GS alternative, would be fantastic as a grab and go .

Have just been looking at that. Not sure about the military BS (yawn) but that aspect is quite subtle on the watch itself and, putting that asside, it's another great design from CW I think. Very tempting for a grab and go.

£675 on the (nicer IMO) Bader bracelet.
