I'm now abstaining for the remainder of 2024 (pending the sale of my company) as I've gone a bit bananas since October 2023, acquiring all the watches in this photo...
In fact I only really wear the IWC and B&R with any regularity; the rest I only very occasionally wear. I might well dispense with all but those two at some point.

LOL!
It's an easy trap to fall into.
Despite having had a new arrival, I’m counting myself as still successfully abstaining as it was technically a trade with Watchfinder and cash my way.
In fact, I’m classing that as doing better than abstaining.
Maybe bending the rules a bit, but that’s what I’m going with !
I was only planning on making one purchase in 2024, and hoped it would take several months of procrastination to take me closer to the end of the year. Sadly said watch was purchased yesterday so it’s going to be a long 10 months!
Lapsed again last week with a Planet Ocean but that's me 100 percent finished .
Achieving abstinence seems to be a challenge for many of us!
I think I am getting myself back on track.
I've traded two watches but have sold one and will be selling the other.
I bought a watch (not for me) but that will soon also be for sale.
I've also bought a new watch roll that will now limit me to 9 watches max.
Wish me luck for March!

Still nothing
Another month done....still on the wagon. :-)
Been good since July '23, a record for me. Have been getting my modest collection serviced instead of buying which takes the watch money available for purchases. Mine are mostly vintage. Good feeling to have them serviced and back on the wrist, bit weird I know, but it's the same with the car.
Do I get a pass for this one??
I purchased a watch, but it was for my missus and on behalf of my kids, and not that price should be a determining factor but it was only 25 quid.
So am I still in the club?
I've only bought a watch strap, so I'm ok I think.
Nothing in or out, not even bought a watch strap - so I know I’m ok

Just DON'T look at SC.
Failure as of today. A woeful effort.

It's totally bonkers in a brilliant way. I've looked at Boldr a lot in the past but the only one I'd have had was long sold out. When I saw this collab with Worn & Wound I had to have it. Bonus that it's a LE of just 100 too. Probably cos they'll struggle to find 100 who want to spend their hard-earned on something this silly but I am always keen for unusual. It's genuinely a selling point for me that a lot of people might dislike my choice! (That's insane isn't it?!)
Funnily enough I really get where you're coming-from. I'm honestly suprised that the watch world (well, the UK bit) is so conformist and sheep-like. People feel the need to pile hate onto any maker that dares try bold or innovative designs, yet if someone like Rolex spaffs-out some horrid little thing with multicoloured balloons on the dial they all start w**king like petshop monekys! We're supposed to be adults, we shouldn't require the approval of others to be able to enjoy our little indulgences...
Enjoy it, I think it's great
I finally fell off the wagon last week with a lovely black FXD Pelagos. Hopefully this will sate my habit for a long time, especially as have decided to move house in the near future.
Currently still on the wagon apart from accepting something as part exchange in a sale, but having the itch whilst my FXD is in for warranty repairs (after two months no less). Trying to keep the credit card hidden until I get it back…
Right - I am back on an even keel!
After three incomings in two months, I have sold no less than five watches this week (...and bunged some ££ into the FR!)
With one more ultra-cheap beater turning into bin-fodder, that means I'm still -3 nett for the year.
I'd like to try a Seiko 'Monster' - but with my WTB provoking a deafening silence and ebay prices pretty eyewatering, that may be some way off.
PHEW!
Well done on selling five sir, not so great that one was to me.
I'm doing well though; only bought two this week.
Came very, very close to falling off the wagon yesterday. Fortunately a few deep breaths and an hour thinking about it got the safety back on the trigger

I was doing so well until last week, now I've got three new ones
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
"You gotta know when to hold em and know when to fold em".
Well, I gave in. Chris Ward Sealander GMT 36 arriving this morning. Been driven to distraction by Tudor customer service so bought myself something different to wear for a while whilst I wait to see if I’ll fall in love with the FXD again.
I think I'm done for a while, unless a Salmon Transglobal appears at some point.
Pilot: IWC XVI
Diver: OceanX Sharkmaster 1000
Chrono: Seiko Speedtimer SFJ001p1
Building and general filth: Casio Wave Ceptor
Cooking: Timex Expedition Grid Shock (multiple timers)
Beach: Dugena full lume quartz
Fitness: Apple Watch SE 44mm
Enough now, enough.
I got to the last week in March without buying a single watch, which is a personal best for me since joining TZ. However, plenty of traffic in the other direction.
Out: 10 x Gen 1 Orient Makos.
Out: a set of three Gen 1 Orient Mako USA.
Out: a 2023 SD43.
Although to be fair the SD43 only went as a part exchange against the one incoming.
In: Daytona.
So the current score is 14 out and 1 in, so technically I am out for this year because of the incoming, but in my defence will claim that was a one for one type situation.
Still holding out.
That Hamilton is putting temptation my way, though, as it would make a great pairing for my Murph......!
