Take it easy Tony.
Great to have the update that it all went perfectly. Hope you rest up well & are back to being yourself again.
Big change, but must have brought big relief to you and your loved ones now.
Take care of yourself Tony.
Take it easy Tony.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
Just saw this.
Wish you a speedy recovery,Tony
Assume a panproctocolectomy with an ileostomy.
BTW, you will need to clear your inbox when you get a chance but you have more important things to do like getting back on your feet and getting home.
All the best.
Take it easy T. I'm sure you'll be up & about soon enough.

Great to hear it all went well Tone.
A new life awaits you now!
Cheers,
Neil.
It's great to hear you're on the mend, Tony. You'll be back on your bike by springtime.
Pretty much. I'll buy you a beer if/when you're in San Diego.
Jeez, It’s hard to realise that you deteriorated so rapidly, I would have expected the condition to have gradually taken years to get to that point. Great news
from nhs web site: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/bowel-cancer-screening/
"The programme is expanding to make it available to everyone aged 50 to 59 years. This is happening gradually over 4 years and started in April 2021."
Has this worked its way back to 51 year olds yet?
It is not clear from the information i can find
thanks
I’m glad it went well Tony, sounds like it was just in the Nick of time!
Recover well Tony, easy does it!

Quick look from your area in profile:
https://mft.nhs.uk/mri/services/bowe...ing-programme/
Bowel screening is offered to people aged 54 to 74 years-old across South and Central Manchester, Tameside, Stockport and Trafford to help find bowel cancer early, when it can often be cured.

But if you have specific concerns go to GP as don't need to wait for screening to have the test.
Great to hear you're home Tony. Rest up, try not to rush to get back to 100%. After I had my surgery I had to learn to be a patient, patient.
Glad to hear your home, that must be a great feeling. Here’s hoping for a good recovery going forwards
Pleased to hear you're home again Tony. Hope you're adjusting OK to your revised plumbing You'll be feeling more comfortable soon.
BW, dunk
"Well they would say that ... wouldn't they!"
Glad all went well and you’re home. Best wishes with the recovery, and hope the adjustment goes as smoothly, but by the sounds of it you’ll be feeling considerably better already.
It's just a matter of time...
Look on the bright side. At least you don’t need to squeeze out a shyte with constipation caused by painkillers. I tried that after an open hernia surgery.
Sorry for the dark and lousy humour, in all seriousness I wish you a speedy recovery. By the sound of it you had it bad and this is in effect a new lease on life. I hope you can enjoy it as such.
Not been around for a while but great to see some of the old gang still around and Tony in particular!!
Looks like you’ve been through the wars but so glad you’re on the mend.
Look on the bright side - it could have been divorce!
All the very best mate
Good news - best wishes for a successful recovery process.
Nice to be home Tone 'eh?
All the best mate.
Cheers,
Neil.
Getting home is an important milestone. The pain will settle and your health will improve massively. All good wishes, Tony :)
Nice one Tony, I’m glad you’re home safely, it must be a relief leaving that part in the rear view mirror.
I’m still in hospital for the moment (7 days to date), although it’s not me that’s ill.
Hope you’re feeling brighter again Tony!
I haven't read the details (I'm somewhat squeamish about medical stuff, so I'm not going to!), but I'm glad to hear you're on the mend, Tony.
