I’ve done both myself multiple times, I would say they are straightforward as they look.
Looking to vary the percentage interest in a couple of properties that are currently 50:50 with my wife. This is purely a tax saving device as the OH has unused 20% allowance. I have sent SAV forms off to the Land Registry, so they will be held as Joint Tenants when that change is registered.
The HMRC form 17 seems easy enough, it’s just the declaration of trust that looks like it might better be drawn up by a solicitor. There are a few templates online, but I’m not convinced.
Anyone done this themselves?

The template I use is as basic as it comes, date, names of parties involved, details of the split, then the witness narrative, and then signatures.
The deed is filed with the form 17, HMRC take a copy and send the original back.
Cheers! I must be overthinking it.
