Yep.
Always nice to see, let’s hope it continues and the courts deal with them appropriately.
"of the 21 convicted so far sentenced to a total of 26 years in prison"
Whilst it's getting the dirty $h!te off the streets, the sentencing of the perpetrators is totally laughable really given the resources put into nicking them, prosecuting them, jailing, warming and feeding them whilst they're on that free holiday.
As soon as they're released they'll be back on it after serving year and bit.
Justice system needs a MASSIVE shake up.
Absolutely.
There should be proper sentencing. Hopefully any and all assets are seized. But at least they’re on the Police’s radar and also CCTV operators can keep an eye out for them. When the scum are back on the streets.
Given the laughable sentencing it was hardly worth the bother of catching them. Post masters got longer.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Good to see some efforts being made but have to agree the punishment seems lenient given the likely circumstances of the perpetrators.
I also thought there seemed some delays in colleagues arriving, certainly long enough for any resistance to lead to weapons being used which isn't ideal.
Seems watch theft is getting wider awareness. Downside of this is its given my lovely aging mother something else to worry about. Over Sunday lunch she warned me not to get my arm chopped off by a motorcycle gang.
Anyway, good on plod I say even though the sentencing is a joke. Remember how hard they came down on the first rioters in 2012? More of that please.
Some evidence of longer sentences being handed out.

Came here to post the same story from the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68003783
I bet it seemed even longer for the undercover officer getting robbed!
I imagine it was very difficult to plan due to not knowing exactly where the robbery would take place. Staying far enough away to let normality reign but being close enough to offer meaningful protection is a fine balance.
