In my memory, the Chimney bank is far less of a challenge than Hardknott - but again, that may be because there was far less traffic on that one.
If this thing with its looong wheelbase, 22" seat height/lack of forward vision (on steep hills), feet-forward riding position and tiller `bars can go up Hardknot and Wrynose then anything can, you don`t need a bike with any specific characteristics to tackle it.
What it does need however is commitment and determination from the rider, if you hesitate, stall or make a feeble attempt it can go wrong very quickly on some of the knarly sections.
It`s not difficult really, just plan ahead and watch for oncoming traffic.

Lower gear and more revs needed.
Given the truly appalling weather of late I've decided to leave the Bonnie in the garage and give it a good clean. Whilst doing so I discovered the chrome rear springs are starting to rust, which wasn't immediately apparent as it was on the underside. So they're off now and going to be refurbed in black.

Just been to take the T7 for a blast - darn battery’s flat - just on charge now
Having ignored all the good advice about owning two Boxer-engined bikes simultaneously, I rode down to Cheltenham to collect the RS this morning.
I'm well chuffed with it, and it was an absolute bargain which is not something you hear too often about Beemers.
First changes will be a taller screen and a relocation of the GPS.

After two weeks without an opportunity to go out — — set off for Wold Newton under a sunny sky. Unfortunately thanks to closed roads for flooding, and the A1079 almost at a standstill it took me an eternity just to reach Fridaythorpe. As I was leaving there, having had a rest / leak / bite at the petrol station, I saw on the corner a cafe that presumably I should have gone to — Seaways?
There was more flooding in Norton, so that gave me a lot more going round in circles. 81 miles in total, the majority of which were totally pointless.
At the crest of the Wolds, on the East Riding / North Yorks border, the wind smacking into me and my little 125 doing a claimed 67mph (as if) a biker going in the opposite direction gave me and my L plates not just a nod, but a raised fist salute, which did me a world of good
You win! Since 2018…
Street Twin
Street Triple
R9T
Thruxton R
Tiger 900 GT Pro
Sport Glide
T120 Black
Missed the most are the R9T and the TTR, but decisions made have been for the right reasons. The T120 will likely be my last, though, as at my age it does everything I need a bike to do. (The list would be different if seat height wasn’t such an important factor, I have to say.)
How did you get nine, Mark?
Well I’ve got the go ahead from the orthopedics to bare full weight on the leg, but there is one screw that needs to come out in a few months time as it’s poking out a bit. Apparently it can be done as a day case so no big deal. The surgeon put a bit of a frightener on me by saying that if I have another incident, the likely hood is almost certain that I’d lose the leg… best be careful then🤓
12 bikes in total since 2001 when I started riding, but 4 since 2021.
I got a CCM Spitfire Cafe Racer which was a mistake.
The GSX-S1000 was only ever going to be a stop gap until the CCM was sold.
I then got the 2022 S1000R which I'd have kept for ages had I not made the mistake of test riding the M1000R, which I fully intend to keep for a good while.

Found an list of biker friendly cafes. It includes the Harbour Cafe in Bridlington. Is that advice still up to date?
Looks like Flamborough Head to me.

I had been wondering what had happened to the wanderlust of.my youth and oh its alive and well, very glad to have an opportunity to get up and running again.
EDIT - that ended up being 96 miles. Snack in Bridlington as I peered at my map, lunch and coffee at Flamborough Head, hot chocolate and a chat with a guy on a Harley 883 at Seaways, 4½ hours.
And quite a lot of mud accumulated, but that can wait until after my trip to Leyburn on Sunday

I thought it fair to update this post
Although I was annoyed at being mislead regarding the advert, and it should be made clear on what you’re actually buying. Amazon have come through and given a full refund plus postage costs of £20. They only cost £9.50 to send back, so not sure why they paid £20.
So because I bought 2 I’m £21 quid up.👍
I wish to formally backtrack...
Circumstances today meant that I was able to do Hardknot and Wrynose on the way to a weekend in Hawes.
Ok, a late departure meant I did them in the dark, which really didn't help, but Hardknot in particular is a lot more gnarly than I remember.
