Saw U 2 on a mini today.
I doubt Bono was driving round Leyland.

T8 on a 2002 Alfa 147 yesterday! Biggest difference in value between car and plate?
Saw MUS 1C on a Merc where we were staying in Devon a few years back. See it's still on a Merc. Must be worth a fair bit!
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
I found my grail plate recently. Shame I'm about £5M short

Cheers Steve.. I’ll bet she was wondering who the heck you were🤪🤪
Just seen a fun one - W8 BRB
Would have meant nothing when it was issued.
^ that one is brilliant and no need for dubious spacing. I’d love to know if it was expensive or slipped through the net & nobody spotted the potential.
Took this picture back in 2015, perfect plate/car match .

Malcom’s or his son’s car?
Seems a little flashy for the Malcolm I knew back in the day when he was my boss, or rather boss’s boss’s boss. He was an utter gentleman and defended a lowly me when I got thrown under the bus by someone more senior in a board meeting.
That said, recall hearing in the early days he did have a Ferrari in north wales that he did store visits in! He still remains a legend for me from the way he treated us, his buying team, and the opportunities he gave us. I met him at a corporate event 15yrs after leaving & he was still as humble as before, his PR profile / persona is not the real him.

Everything you say there chimes with what I have heard about Malcolm. My lad had a Saturday job when he was 16 at the Nelson store in Lancashire. This was pre him selling out and buying back. My lad met him on one occasion and said he was a decent guy and pleasant with the staff.
At that time the business had really taken off and he must have had a large number of stores , so well done him for getting out to the sticks to see the customer facing team.
In the early days he had a Rolls outside his Deeside depot, thats what made me think when I saw the plate.

There are 2 people in my career I hold in such high regard, he is one of them. Despite having left many moons before, I was so happy when he came back to take the lead again. He made it feel like a family, despite the sheer scale of the business.

A certain forum member may like this one - the car's for sale here.
^^^Not really worth buying Ian as it's far from original, it was originally a fixed head coupe (excellent), unfortunately it had its roof hacked off in the 80's or 90's (boo).
