Cutting back on the beer, 0% Guinness and 0% Joker from Williams Brothers, well worth trying.
Best AF drinks in a long while.
A wee walk along the Fife coastal path yesterday to one of our favourite watering holes, the Railway Inn at Lower Largo.
Fyne Jarl to start then Born Best Bitter and good old Ovenstone Terra Nova
Being a true Scot, I offered to buy us lunch. Sod the expense!

Here we go!
If anyone lives in or near Orpington in Kent, there is a beer festival on at the Liberal Club from Thursday.
One of the cask beers on will be our Chilli Chocolate Stout, called 'Where's the bloody vindaloo, Hippy?'. It won beer of the festival at the Bromley CAMRA fest earlier this year.

A localish brewery (Londons oldest micro brewery)
A few of these a take away and Ire v NZ, all the makings of a cracking night in
Pre-match bev, a little fruity number.
Rugby ready!
Enjoying Jigger Ale at the famous Jigger Inn at St Andrews Old Course.
Nothing special but very quaffable!
Not our local, but local to us!

You are doing well, as they only last a matter of weeks/months in our household and that is with us treating them VERY carefully.
I have broken more of them than I care to remember, so have had to give up with them now as they are so fragile. Shame as they are really lovely glasses.
Another Lidl offering - very refreshing

Putting a dent into a box of these tonight.
As ever from this brewery it is very good.
Forged stout, try it if you can get hold of it.
Just tried a pint of Belhaven Black. Truly dreadful, like flat liquorice water. One of the only pints in recent years that I was going to leave rather than finish. Not good at all.
Sent through the ether by diddling with radio waves
I picked this up in Aldi (as I like a Kolsch) & tried it tonight ...
Not bad at all.

It was so good we finished the lot so none to take home today Fortunately my local has been getting Harvey's in on a regular basis.
When I am back in the old county I make a point of bringing a load of beer back, either from Harvey's, Hepworth, Long Man or Arundel.
All good choices Wimm. Longman are a particular favourite here. Their APA is exceptional.
A long overdue wee visit to wonderful Glasgow for a couple of nights, and a drop in to one of our favourite drinking holes - the Three Judges in Dumbarton Road, to enjoy some Scottish ales!
I’m on the malty Broughton Wee Jock @ 4.4%, and madam is quaffing the very floral Stewart Brewing Edinburgh Gold @ 4.8%

I am having a rubbish week. In fact a rubbish month. Properly down in the doldrums and juggling all sorts of aggro and drama.
Anyway, today my 2023 advent calendar arrived and somehow allnis good in the world again.
Trouble is, I want to open them ALL and drink them NOW!!!
Hoping there are some unusual treats in there along with the classics.
Heres an unusual one ..
Small Beer Company in Bermondsey. All of their beers are low strength, but refreshing. Their hazy IPA is sold by the Hand and Flowers (Tom Kerridge’s place).

A good way to reduce units but enjoy a beer.
Cycling home from work, and took a cheeky stop off for a great pint of Orkney Dark Island. Yum. Like Christmas pudding in a glass.
Yes, it was a fantastic pint, and surpassed the London Porter/Winter Warmer/Sambrook Tomahawk I had at a beer festival on Tuesday.
Believe it or not, it was at the Twickenham Spoons, which is on my cycle home from work.
Two hundred and sixty six earth pence as well! Almost giving it away for London.
Check your local Spoons. They have probably bought a few hundred casks as they do.
Met with some old work colleagues at The West Riding on Dewsbury station and had a couple of these
Also had a Kirkstall Black Band Porter along with pie & peas for lunch.
Called at Granville’s on way back for the Wilde Child Veridian Disguisement on way home.

Ice cold Brahma.
^^^I like Beavertown, especially Gamma Ray on draught.
Although you have to be careful with the strength, as a few pints of this and it is falling over juice.
Popped in to the Black Dog Brentford last night before heading to the Quins game
I had a great Oyster Stout. My mate had a couple of pints of ‘Caps Off’ bitter.
Cracking pub if you are ever in the area.
Lovely stuff, craving cask bigtime lately. I was supposed to be going to the Pigs Ear festival in Hackney last night but had to cry-off.
So I consoled myself with this little selection.
Instead of buying a beer advent calendar this year I just bought a bunch of beer I like from Five Points, Verdant, Left Handed Giant, Long Man and Thornbridge. Not sure they’ll all make it to the 25th tbh!
This is my second rotation on the north side of Kew Bridge. I was last there 10 years ago. In between times they really have spruced the place up and it’s gone a bit executive.
Hardly recognised the place since they bulldozered the old bees ground and got rid of the scrap metal merchants.
Great beer that is only brewed once a year.

Something new for me tonight.
It's alright.
This advent calendar is bloody brilliant, I might buy a dozen more and make it a monthly thing!
These top two proved very drinkable the other night, and I've given myself a few days off to save up a Friday night stash, so the bottom four are on tonight's menu.
I'll be honest I'm not usually that fussed with a Porter, but I've got that 8% Solar Flare double IPA to wash it down with so all good fun...
Called for a quick one ( and a half) and to pick up a can.
Vocation Not just for Terry chocolate orange stout
Vocation Sugar & Spice Amaretto Stout.
As it say on the can!
