Hi everyone,
The crown on my wife’s Air-King 5500 needs to be replaced (somehow the Rolex logo on the crown seems to have peeled back).
Does anyone have a recommendation on who is best to fix it please? I won’t send it into Rolex - the last time I did that they said it needed about £4,000 of work, including a new case. I’ve used Steven Hale before and happy to go there again, but wanted to see if anyone had any other alternatives!
Thanks.

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
We may have a replacement Rolex crown for that

Why would it 'peel back', is it plated?
Whereabouts are you based ?
Should be a simple enough job it’s just the part/s , Rolex like you say you might as well scrap the watch with what they would charge ( astronomical amount BTW ) .
Wow 4K worth of parts! That’s probably a record and even slightly above the market price of a 5500

A friend and TZ UK member sent his 1966 Air King to Duncan Potter at Genesis for a full service inc. parts – not sure which model ref.
Very good result and £cost very reasonable.
