November release https://www.seikowatches.com/jp-ja/p...rospex/sbdx059
That X though...
Maybe it's me and old age creeping up on me, but when searching for Landmaster watches on Chrono24 I came across two adverds from different Japanese dealars but exactly the same, just like on Ebay.
Even the pics and text are the same. The model numbers are incorrect and give totally different watches and my attempts to find it on 't interweb didn't give me any pics of said watch.
It should be a (imho) beautiful blue dialed full titanium Landmaster powered by the 8l35 movement.
Is it just me going mad? help please.

It's a lovely looking watch, but as for the price I can only assume it's a limited addition.
R
Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
It's a good find. I like:
Size (42mm x less than 13mm)
Movement (8L35, I like it in my MM300)
Compass bezel (it's a Landmaster...)
Titanium
Easy-adjust clasp
Price (same as MM300, perfectly reasonable for what it is)
Dial markers (classic Landmaster, all very balanced including the date aperture)
Screw-back (unlike MM300, so maintenance a little easier)
I like less:
Diashield (hard to refinish, but appears to be on the case only. I loved the 'old' Landmaster titanium cases, which got better with a bit of wear)
X on the dial
X on the caseback
Might possibly be able to get over those, as I'm such a hopeless Landmaster fan.
Need to see it though. One from the Seiko Japan link:

I like this a lot. At this price is it reasonable to expect the chapter ring to line up?
But the chapter ring might not be aligned properly with the dial on all of them.
This artwork looks fine.
But we all know Seiko’s reputation for quality control. And this won’t be something I can examine in a shop, I’d have to buy it online and hope I get a good one.
Just wondering if at this price point the production and quality control are going to be better?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't click! bi-directional, YOU can make it line-up.

I still punch myself now and again for selling my burgundy-dial landmaster here a few years ago.
What an idiot.

Perfect everyday tool watch.

Although I think the questioner was talking about the chapter-ring, rather than the bezel, I suspect it will all be well-made. This is a Made in Japan model, with the 8L35 movement made in the Shizuku-ishi studio. The one that makes Grand Seiko, Credor (including custom models) as well as this...
I really like that the Landmaster has returned to the simple design of old, with the venerable 8L35 making a comeback. Just the Diashield and X are what gives me pause.
My Landmaster LX SNR025J1 is one of my favourite watches, as it’s a true GMT using the compass is easy - just point GMT hand at the sun (Northern Hemisphere) then you can read the NESW compass points off the dial, good 200m WR and superb lume, the titanium case is finished beautifully, to the extent that it feels/looks like a GS.

That's a lovely example of a Landmaster, but where's the glass? ;)

I've rarely worn my burgundy over the past year, it's even stopped and probably needs a new movement at some point. But I still remain a Landmaster enthusiast. Potentially too rich for me, but it looks amazing and all the details look great.
Harks back to the very elusive auto with the same movement that was also a limited run.

Yep it's the capacitor. Though I thought it was easier changing the whole movement and not just the capacitor? I gotta check the service receipt that came with the watch when I bought it actually.
And no, no spare parts for you

Thought this thread could do with an update, now that there's one "on forum"! A lovely thing it is as well, with perfectly aligned chapter ring, and friction bezel which is nice and tight, with no play or unwanted movement. The watch looks and is quality .
If anyone is looking for the new Landmaster, it's available for £1728 here (20% off plus an additional 10% if you use the code "NEW"):
