That's very lovely in its simplicity, quite Japanese in a way. Good on you and thanks for showing it.
Just restarted doing some art after a couple years. This time in ink. Bit rusty but what do you think?

Better than I could ever do x100, Martyn. The trees seem to have some life to them. Enjoy your hobby. You have some skill there. Onwards and upwards!
Like it very much but (please take with a big pinch of salt) I'm not sure about the two trees on the left, perhaps a bit too close together. Also good to include a focal point that draws the viewer in, a small silhouetted figure or two on the horizon for example. Anyway, keep up the great work!
very nice, reminds me of a black/white version of a leonid afremov painting (he died a few yrs ago iirc but he painted very vibrant works with a palette knife - which included a lot of avenue style paintings, well worth a look at his work if you have not heard of him)
Good work Martyn.
Ink is a lovely medium.
Cheers,
Neil.
Looks great, well done…………….. and I know what it like
Looks good Martyn, I envy people who can draw and paint; I can’t even get stick people to look right, which is why I stick to photography.
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Many thanks for all the kind comments! If anyone is thinking of trying some art I’m sure there are local associations. I never studied art at school - being more into maths and physics. It’s a fun thing to try and you might enjoy it.
It’s a bit like music (incidentally I’ll be doing my first solo performance this Christmas on clarinet and also N. American Flute) that can be enjoyed.
