Just took this pic for the Friday thread, but I might as well use it here as well. I bought this on a whim in Middlesbrough in 1986. I had a thing for white / silver dials at the time.
Bought from SC this week. Great to have an MM back in the collection.

I've been wearing this 7123-8250 since I got it up and running at the weekend. I bought it as a non-runner and, when a new battery didn't work, brought a donor watch. Two years later I finally get around to performing the transplant. I was a bit nervous as this was the first time I had to tackle calendar works but I learnt a lot and it is working fine. We'll worth the wait
Just in, 1978.

Should I keep it or sell it…
Such a perfect watch but unfortunately so big and thick and heavy

Blue dial and blue bezel but black Nato.
It’s a keeper.

Have to say this is the nicest Seiko I think I’ve owned.

The dial is sublime isn’t it, they’ve taken a leaf out of some of the Grand Seiko textured dials.

How does it wear Vs something like a BB58, bigger?

Having recently agreed to sell my Helson to a friend, I have now replenished the number of watches in the collection to seven, three of which are now Seikos. Loving this SPB213J1. Whilst obviously not as elevated in the Seiko hiearchy as my SBDX017 or indeed the LX GMT, it is still a very well-finished watch and fully justifying the original RRP, imo.

Last month I bought a Seiko 7548, produced in 1978, from a member on this forum.
The watch has been serviced, everything was working perfectly.
The accuracy was within +-15sec/month (it was +12sec/month), but I thought to myself, this could be a little better.
ONE SINGLE turn with a small screwdriver on trimmer counterclockwise...BINGO !!!
I know, this is not a Grand Seiko 9F quartz movement, I know, it's not a thermocompensated quartz movement
and it will work a little differently at different temperatures, but still...
Below is dusty photo made with phone, with the fool with BIG GRIN on the reflective screen ;)
Rather nice old 56GS - not the usual GoD case shape but much more .. pebbley.
