Thanks Adrien, it was a very long time ago when I was an 18 year old medical student on my first bike, and only transport

Fair enough, it's 35 years since I used a bike for a regular work commute so beating the traffic jams isn't something that would concern me. Mind you even then it was 25 miles of A road which wasn't that busy, with a couple of miles of town traffic each end. So nothing like the roads you're travelling on, more of a nice quickish bimble each way. It was still definitely quicker than my workmates and sometime car sharers though, which annoyed the Dolomite Sprint and Escort RS guys no end!
I still filter slowly in stationary traffic sometimes, but it's nice not to have to.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
I bought this Guzzi as a non runner, it started life as a California, the Guzzi version of a Harley tourer, its changed a bit since then. As standard it weighed 250kg, now its down to 193kg with all fluids. Still needs new throttle cables and a weeping fork seal sorted and it'll be ready for the road.. just in time for the bad weather no doubt.
Now that’s how a Guzzi should look!

My friend has bought the same one.
Halfords tools are top notch.
Some Knox bargains in the outlet department if you are Small or 4XL
Though I did find a 2XL merino top in a (cough) fitted athletic fit.

A work of art.
good video from 44teeth this week discussing the legal aspects of a couple of crashes , well worth a watch.
I've owned it for ten years, always been a side project, always at the back of the queue, its been rebuilt twice now as I wasn't happy with the look the first time. This is the second of five project bikes I'm trying to finish this year, so now on to number 3...
A 1978 Z650 with a big bore Gpz1170 motor, started with just a damaged 650 frame..
Well, it arrived yesterday. One spanner falls out of its home in the lid, and one of the plastic case clips broke as soon as I opened it. It's also REALLY heavy, so when I take it back this afternoon I may go for the 150 piece set instead.
In other news...
The eagle has landed.
Just need to fit my aftermarket bits back on now.
I did feel a bit weird when I jumped on it to ride home. Must have lasted all of 5 minutes, although I have to admit I was being very careful all the way.
After careful research into what was riden by who in which tv programmes I watched when I was a child, I've concluded that my subconscious believes this to be the ur-bike:
Shame about the socket set Tony, mine has been fine, was I right about the weight though!! Good shout on the smaller version, especially if you can still get it with that discount. I think they are hard to beat for the kind of use I put them through.
Brilliant news on the bike, so pleased for you. Enjoy putting your farkles back on and I look forward to hearing how you get on with it. If the weather holds, which seems unlikely at the minute I may be riding around your way this weekend, so if you see a bike much like yours with a fat old fella on board be sure to give us a nod.
Happy and safe riding.
Heavy was something of an understatement, Greg... good grief! Given what's in the set, though, I reckon the 150 piece (yes, still similarly discounted) will more than suffice.
As for tomorrow, if you are down my way then ping me a text and I may be able to hook up with you for a while. I'll need to go to Halfords first thing (decided it'll be too busy today now, as I've missed getting there for opening) and it'll depend a bit on how I'm feeling, but it would be good to see you - and your bike - if the stars should happen to align.
Rode my brothers 765 ST RS yesterday
What a fantastic bike.
Really easy to absolutely ring it's neck. My only slight complaint is the brakes. Given the big Brembo, callipers I expected better stopping power, but maybe it was just because I've got used to my bike.

Brilliant value for money!
Halfords lifetime warranty works too....I took a 15 year old torque wrench back for repair, there was no quibbling, just a straight swap for a new one.
My only reservation with these Halfords tools is that the 3/8 & 1/4 ratchets have a habit of switching themselves into the opposite directions when you're using then really fast. Annoying, but not a biggie or indeed a deal breaker.
Tony with my health problems I stopped using 1/2" drive not really needed on my bike, I went for 1/4" and 3/8" drive less weight on my hand and easier to carry.
Teng socket sets are very good as are the original/ Britool spanners which can still be found and are a joy to use they are as good as Snapon.
I use Teng torque wrenches of the size ranges that are used on most bikes.
Halfords tools are good but the big sets dont always give you what you actually need and often more stuff you dont need.
