I had a watch posted DHL in Sydney Monday 10th July lt was delivered following Monday no problems.
Frustrated is not the word! I ordered a watch last Sunday from Ernst Jones with a delivery date of last Wednesday. Still not got it…
Time line of events so far.
Ernst jones:
- Watch ordered last Sunday with delivery date of Wednesday.
- On Wednesday there is no update so I call to be advised the watch was never in stock!
- Later on Wednesday the package is marked as shipped so ok that’s odd. I call and am advised there was a delay in the warehouse due to how busy they are and watch will arrive Thursday. On Thursday the free gift comes and no watch.
- I call and am advised the actual issue is the store were waiting on packaging from the manufacturer before shipping. I am told I will get the watch on Saturday.
DX:
- I am sitting here today excited… get an update saying watch will be with me between 11:30 and 13:30.
- At 13:40 there is an update saying insufficient delivery address details.
- I am advised the driver can’t be reached, all delivery details are fine and they don’t know why the watch was not delivered.
- Delivery now rescheduled for Monday with the depot being advised of the situation to ensure delivery.
Fecking shambles. This is my biggest watch purchase by some margin and my excitement is massive. This has been a very very frustrating week!
Rant over….

Disappointing smoke and mirrors from EJ. I've never heard of DX, which sounds like its a good thing for me. Fingers crossed for you.
DX are supposed to be delivering my car roof box next week. As long as it arrives before 5 August …
Ive had similar a few years ago with Ernest Jones.
I bought a Tag Heuer Monaco from them, it arrived.......eventually! But had a fair few "hiccups" along the way. If I recall, first it was out of stock. then it had been delivered, then they said they had sent out 2 watches?! It came eventually though..
I cant recall who they actual used to "courier it", at the time, I thought all the blame was with Ernest Jones.
Never actually made a purchase from EJ but from a bad in store experience a few years ago put me right off.....most of my substantial watch purchases (Tudor, Seiko, Hamilton, Tissot) have come via Beaverbrooks, no issues what so ever.
Hope all gets sorted this time around for you.
I have now had to get Ernst Jones involved. Speaking with DX today I am convinced the item has either been stolen or is lost.
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
'Populism, the last refuge of a Tory scoundrel'.
All things being equal I should get my watch tomorrow but not holding my breath. I am considering seeking some sort of compensation for the time I have had to put in to this nonsense. Is that reasonable?
Maybe EJ should follow Amazons and IKEA theme and post watches in boxes that size, hard to lose?
Finally …. Got it!!
Complaint made with Ernst Jones.
Got an incoming from EJ this week so let's see how it goes.
It was a zenith pilot big date flyback ceramic.
