Eddie,
sorry to hear the news - good that they can start radiotherapy, my FiL had prostate cancer and lived with it for many years and was 92 before he passed (unrelated to the cancer).
Eddie,

Sorry to hear your news, very best wishes for the trial results.
Best wishes and sorry to hear that news - quite a shock to say the least.
Saddened to hear about this Eddie. I hope the planned treatment goes as well as expected and perhaps leads to a surgical option.
Wishing you and your family all the best during this difficult time.
David
Ah shit, that won't do at all. As ever in these circs nothing clever to say which makes anything better but suffice to say thinking of you, sending best vibes and, tbh, having a whip round for the poor bloody nurses.
Eddie, I'm sure this will end well. Til it does, I'm only wearing Timefactors watches.
Cheers and warm wishes
Brane
Really sorry to hear this Eddie. Hoping for the best.
Not great news Eddie but good to hear you are getting treatment. Stay stong and keep positive
The NHS is on the ball when it comes to this kind of stuff Eddie. It’s very common and very treatable. All the best.
The very best of wishes and luck Eddie, thinking of you.
Best,

Eddie,
Really sorry to hear this news. My best wishes to you and your family and I hope whatever treatments and solutions they offer you will help
in some way.
Just seeing this now. Good luck with the treatments I am rooting for you.
John
So sorry to read this, best wishes to you and your family
Good luck for your treatment, Eddie (from another CaP sufferer).
Without wanting to hi-jack the thread and also avoiding politics, it amazes me that there is no national screening programme for prostate cancer, and that's from a doctor's perspective (there are many equally unreliable tests used in all sorts of other national screening programmes)! It all still relies on you being worried enough or starting to get symptoms to visit a doctor and get checked out.
Anyway, all the best to you
Shocking news, really hope the treatment is a success.

If you are black 45 or over, or 50 or over, you can ask your GP for a PSA test, you do not need to have any symptoms to request this. If you ask the receptionist they will request a test form, you go have the test and discuss results with GP. No "digit" test required, and any further investigations are usually MRI and/or biopsy.
All the best to our host.
Sorry to hear about this Eddie, stay positive!!
Steve
Keep strong Eddie.
All the best.
Bry
Really sorry to read this thread Eddie hope all goes well stay strong mate.
sad news but my pal responded very well to his treatment...sure all will be fine
very best wishes for a successful treatment Eddie.
Hopefully now that you (and the NHS) are aware of it you're going to get the appropriate treatment and enjoy a full recovery
like many on here, of a certain age, I'm monitoring my PSA and at some point will probably need more invasive treatment; it's worth getting the test done so that you know your numbers and are in the system.
Very best wishes Eddie and hoping that everything is a success.
Rob.
Just to echo the many good wishes here Eddie, I trust you are in good hands.
Sorry to hear of this situation Eddie... thoughts to you and yours in this difficult time.
Good luck with the fight gaffer... you are made of strong stuff and Yorkshire grit.
Be well. xx
Greg
All the best Eddie
Kinda puts things in perspective when you read posts like this.
Good news about the treatment plan, hope everything moves forward for you from here
WOW,
Just been reading this Eddie, and all I can say is several friends & neighbours have this s..t, and all are leading 'normal' lives after several years since diagnosis.
All the very best, chin up and forwards !
Cheers, Peter
Not been on TZ-UK for quite a while now, so only just picked up on this. So sorry to hear this Eddie, and what a shock it must have been with you not having any symptoms. Hoping the treatment goes well and they sort it out. Any news on the 'new' treatment you've heard about?
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
So sorry to hear this Eddie.
Really hope the treatment helps
Hope the treatment goes well Eddie. No direct experience of that particular C, but I'd take comfort from the many comments here and elsewhere of it being manageable in this day & age. Best wishes pal.
I hope today went as well as you could wish for Eddie.

The radiotherapy went will with no ill effects, the worst part was 4 hours at the hospital and having to sit with a full bladder for an hour. They need you to have a full bladder to lift the small intestine out of the way of the radiation.
Eddie
Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Good to hear Eddie.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
It's good to hear that treatment has started.
Great to hear
Glad radio. went smoothly, Eddie. Onwards and upwards. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
Good to hear treatment has started, best for the future.
