Via optical - suppose it depends what Sonos you buy
Play bar has optical in
Well here is something different from me!
I used to be into hifi and a friend has asked me for help.
Basically the idea is to buy a TV and a Sonos soundbar. I think they can talk to each other via Bluetooth or something g is that right (probably LG tv).
The second thing is to get a CD player (something like thishttps://www.richersounds.com/catalog/product/view/id/113). How would I connect that to the soundbar?
We looked at all in one devices from Roberts buy they don't appeal. Budget is not unlimited but is around £500.
Thanks

connecting a cd player seems a bit overkill for a soundbar, im sure you can just connect your phone via bluetooth to play music.
Do they not have a DVD player connected to the TV ?
Cheers..
Jase
He has loads of cds, and prefers to play them. Ah well maybe just get a bunch of separates again.
Thanks
Ps I like the idea of a dvd player but was not sure if they would play cds
I'd go with an av amp with connected Blu-ray/CD player. Unless they are really restricted for space.
Better solution and much better quality of sound
Cheers, will check what sonos do.
As I understand it, depending on the DVD player, CDs can be played through a DVD player and the TV does not need to be turned on in order to do so...I've had my DVD player connected direct to my streamer/amp and it works, although another factor to consider is that DVD players often don't have DACs that are as good as CD players so the sound quality may not be up to CD standard.
