Maybe I'm blind, but I didn't see any evidence of brassing. Unless it is substantial, I would leave it as is. 80 microns of gold fill has been considered as "generous."
Hello all,
Today whilst going through “old” watch boxes I’ve found a Seiko Crown Special I’ve had forgotten all about.
After picking it up I remembered why I had it stored away.. it needs a service and although the original dial it’s pretty much immaculate, the case has seen better days.
All the case lines are present and sharp(ish), but in certain spots the filling seem to have come off.
I’m writing this post to see if anybody has ever had to restore a case like that, and if yes, how did you proceed about it.
For reference, this is the watch.
Thank you for looking and your advice.
Best Regards
Claudio

It’s not as bad as I might have made it out to be, but I would like to have the case as pristine as the dial.
