The local boutique called me yesterday as a buyer of a previous LE (the Bamford) asking if I would be interested. This ones nice enough (I do like a sandwich dial), but not worth blowing a hole in the credit card!

Nothing to get excited about IMHO

It's nice enough. I'd have dropped the date personally, but yeah it's OK. Sandwich dial is always nice, of course it's only as good as the lume, and in general I find Bremont's lume to be woeful.

What’s not to like? Sandwich dial, simple / uncluttered, small seconds and a LE. The price isn’t ridiculous either (relatively speaking).
Bremont lume used to be be pants but is getting better. The Bamford le had decent lume iirc.
I quite like this, at least it’s a proper limited run too. Also not that bad value with current RRPs going mad.
I think my next Bremont would be a fury, really nice in the metal. The winding action is buttery smooth too.

I'm now excited that Bremont are not as thick as I was thinking - I had c16mm in my head, but I see it's closer to 13mm. So, I'll now pay them more heed (in the sale, an MBII or Supermarine ideally).
MB’s are great watches
I really like the Recon, if I'm honest, but I'm a sucker for a sandwich dial, and I think it looks great on that brown leather.
Based on the few Bremonts I've owned, however, I definitely wouldn't want to be paying their asking price for it. Would need a good 15%, or so, off the 3195 asking price for me to bite, personally speaking. I guess that won't happen with it being a limited edition though.
I like the watch very much FWLIW - despite a moratorium on buying 3-handers - and the hardened steel case is a significant draw, but that price, and with just a humble ETA/Sellita movement within? Nooooo...
I guess they've got a fancy new HQ to pay for...
I popped into the local boutique to have a look at it in the end. Nice looking watch, but to small for my personal tastes. To me the sandwich dial didn’t really stand out with a smaller dial. Nice that it comes with both straps (leather and fabric) even better both come with buckles. Zero chance of discount.
Next one coming out (next month) is an LE of the Arrows mono pusher chrono.
I've bought one. I like the simplicity and it's got a bit more to it than many military watches IMHO. My Niece works for Bremont too :)
Still no discount though :(
I'm sure there's some bloke on here who trained as a "watchmaker" (whatever the term is) with Bremont. Can't remember his name.
First Bremont I like that one. Is there a bracelet available?
Nice enough but not really anything to get excited about.
They need to change the case back wording.
I'm really looking forward to their coronation watch. It's bound to contain something exciting from the day, perhaps a piece or carpet from the abbey or bunting from the Mall, maybe a gold fleck or two from the royal coach. It'll be lovely.
I'm looking forward to the day that the Bremont nay sayers have an original thought but as each day passes it becomes increasingly obvious that it's not going to happen. I think that they've produced more than ten new designs of watch now since the last LE with a historical artefact in it but I'm sure that won't affect their 'fans' ability to repeat the same **** on a different day.
This is far worse https://www.francisandgaye.co.uk/cit...N014854E-p7826
My Alt1-P has exemplary lume, some of the best I have ever seen.
I do agree that Bremont's "aged" lume (on the Supermarine S300) is not good, and I have also had an LE with blue lume (a BGW9 variation), which was okay, but not great.
It is certainly something they seem to be relatively inconsistent about
Local boutique suggest the recon is almost sold out.
It was a tongue and cheek comment…. 200 units though should be that hard to shift worldwide
This is becoming ludicrous. To add to my earlier analogies: is everyone who owns a Rolex GMT Master/II Pepsi a wannabe Pan Am pilot for whom they were originally designed? No. Watches come in all shapes, sizes and flavours. Buy what you like but recognise that your taste is unique to you and others have different tastes.
As far as those wearing pilot watches being wannabe pilots, I'll refer you to a couple of threads on the topic on which I've previously commented:

Still at least 1 Recon available at the boutique in Cribbs if anyone’s looking.
