Nooooo! Not Wilko.
After he beat his cancer and started making music again I thought he'd be around forever. What a genuinely interesting and decent man. I'm really upset hearing this.
RIP big man
Gutted, been part of my life since the age of 12, when he taught me at school. He died two days ago but is being announced today.
Totally unique a true one off. So many stories to tell.
RIP mate

I was too young to enjoy them in their pomp, but it was this footage that ignited the spark:

I was supposed to see Wilko and Norman Whatt-Roy in LLangollen and they had to cancel as Norman had collapsed on stage the night before.
They promised to return but never did so I never did get to see the play..
My absolute favourite group ever… once I’d heard Milk and Alcohol as a 17 year old and then checked out their other stuff I bought all their albums, tapes and as I got older CD’s.. Dr Feelgood just fantastic raw music..
RIP Wilko
So sad. He was one of a kind
Aw no, gutted to hear this. What a player, and what a personality.
Dreadfull news, a fantastic and unique talent. RIP.

A proper Legend.

OGWT was essential viewing in the 70s, top topic of school chat next day.
Looking back it was dross. Two rays of sunshine stick in my mind to this day: 1973 New York Dolls, 1975 Dr, Feelgood.
Always liked this video from Geordie Scene, so evocative of the time, fashion, hair and dancing.

70s were a bit grim, Wilko brightened things up.

What a shame, I thought he was invincible.
RIP Wilko.
Cheers,
Neil.
Same here. I’m so sad to hear this; I saw him (with Norman Watt-Roy and Dylan Howe) at, of all places, the Cambridge Folk Festival in 2015. Having listened to a fair amount of his stuff over the years I was delighted to find that if anything, he was even better live.
The album he did with Roger Daltrey was great, too.
Gutted indeed.
I saw Dr Feelgood on the night of my 21st birthday in the Students Union bar.
Sensational - although I can’t believe it is exactly 44 years to the day today.
RIP Wilko

Noooo not Wilko :(
So sad to hear this. A proper character and a very underrated musician. Rest in peace.
What a force of nature Wilko was, I'm genuinely upset at hearing the news. R.I.P.
Sad, he did have a pretty interesting life and what a talent. Loved the documentary he was involved in - came across as a nice quirky guy.
Only saw him once but i always liked the prowling around stage antics and the machine gun poses (which Joe Strummer went on to nick...) which featured at every gig.
RIP Wilco.
RIP Wilko, a pretty unique playing style
BBC has put up an interview from 2013, worth a listen.

Only just learned of Wilkos passing
Gifted, stylish guitarist
I often have a Dr Feelgood session on yt
RIP
"Don't you leave me here" is an interesting read, a work of two parts ,but worth your time if you liked the chap, as I did .
