Pen y Fan, Black Mountain, Llanthony Priory spring to mind
Mrs Ticker and I have booked a quaint little cottage for a 4 night break in spring on the western side of the Brecon Beacons not too far from Llandovery.
Are there recommends for Food, Walks, Towns, Places worth a visit to while away an afternoon and maybe a decent golf course?
We don’t mind travelling further west/southwest to the coast.

Newport Parrog golf course overlooking the sea.
Mumbles on a nice evening is fantastic in good weather, and there's crazy golf ;)
Elan valley has some incredible scenery and if you fancy going further west the cost South of Aberystwyth is stunning
Try these for ice cream.

well there is a 870 mile coastal path but the weather is terrible in november so i cant see how many people would enjoy it unless you like rain and wind
Tenby is not too far away. Some good walks, plenty of decent food and a good golf course
good food here https://www.tenbybrewingco.com/collections/tap-tan
Saundersfoot is just down the road and again more good walks and great seafood here https://stonecrab.co.uk/
St Davids is a bit further but the Cathedral is always worth a visit
As a railway-enthusiast I'd head for the Heart of Wales line, which you are right next to and runs from Shrewsbury to Swansea.
The National Botanical gardens is great. Tenby is definitely worth a visit. And how about some Gorge Walking in Brecon, Dinas Rock area (Black Mountain Adventure).
The Gower Peninsula is very pleasant if you get lucky with the weather.
*Wow, that is a beautiful photo.
We love Tenby and cannot wait to go back and also thought St Davids was worthy of more time, it is a fantastic part of the world.

Drive up to Rhayader then take the elan valley mountain road, this leads to the hafod estate which has some good walks. Devils bridge is worth a visit, strata Florida if you like old ruins. Take some food with you and fill the car up, there is the odd shop or pub but it’s like going back in time 50 years round those parts
