number 2 - Nipper is absolutely stunning. Bet he’s a feisty wee character. Glad he found his forever home. Eli crammed in a lot of travelling during his first 18 months. Born in Scarborough, he travelled further down the north-east coast to Friskney in Lincolnshire. Then all the way from Friskney to Edinburgh in the space of eight hours or so.
This thread is so therapeutic. Looking at dogs really does keep the blues at bay.
Yes chum you're so right, Nippers story is a lot like Eli's, born in Stirling, rehomed in Kirkcaldy before being passed to the Dogs Trust, on holiday in Mallorca my other half happened to be surfing the Dogs Trust website and saw him, she made contact and they sent her a couple of WhatsApp videos of him, meanwhile I booked accommodation for a couple of days close to West Calder and when J returned from Mallorca we travelled to Edinburgh to check the mutt out and be vetted by the Dogs Trust, it'll be two years in September - he's currently laid on my lap in the shade,

Be more Lollipop.
On the subject of rescues there should be more places like this one.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
This is "Boomer" another rescue dog, the rescue centre only knew he was abandoned somewhere,
he had been ill treated with a few bad abcesses in teeth/gums.....wife would not stop crying when our other rescue had to be put down . So back to the rescue centre a month or so later and she picked Boomer.
A lot of dentistry required but he is just fine now.....a good dog!
This is our new housemate - Gilly. Another shelter animal, she was found outside a Pizza Hut In Oklahoma, and was relocated up to Portland Oregon where we got her.
She’s a real darling - around 10 months old, with pretty good manners, which I guess means she was in someones home at some point. We’re guessing she’s part shepherd, part lab, but who cares..?!
Lovely! And good to read that another dog has found a home.
There was a pick in the local rags yesterday of a big brown lab tied to a bench in a bus shelter. Left behind. On the day that the temp hit 40C. I cannot get my head around things like that. For me, it's on the same level as child abuse.
Luckily the dog was found and is now in a shelter. Hopefully on its way to a caring owner.
"NO, we're not taking another dog!"
"We have plenty of space!" (We have)
"No"
"I am always at home" (True, retired)
"No"
"You have a bunch of Maine Coons! We didn't argue about that."
"That are cats, they're small!"
"Your Maine Coons are bigger than beagles!" (They are)
"Still, no."
I lost that one. Any useful arguments?
Not mine, but WOW !

Thought I'd post this. We have a Russian friend Katarina (she has British Citizenship) who has a little 'Chiggy' dog called Vinci we look after when she's away on holiday.
She has recently got a rescue dog from Ukraine, Donetsk called Jessie
She was abandoned by her owner after some missile attack and and was living in squalor and permanently caged up.
Well great news she is now with Katarina here in Darlington and is looking healthy. Katarina brought her to see us and seems a very, friendly dog.
The first pic is of Jessie in the cage in Donetsk...
Next pic is of her with Katarina's partner and Chiggy Vinci at home in Darlington and enjoying her new home....
Happy ending for a long journey to the UK

The girls decided that it was a good day for a swim.
Had this working lab over the on Saturday. Beautiful and would absolutely love one.
Watching the BBC’s “Unseen Queen” on Saturday evening.
Mostly a collection of home movie clips of the Queen and family from her childhood and throughout.
Wonderful personal and natural footage.
And in almost every film, DOGS !
She loved her dogs.
Gob Bless her x
Just another snoozy day

Great dog, great picture.
Betty full of pups.
Going to be an exciting week, they're due on Thursday but she may go early....
Cheers,
Adam.
Oh wow! Good luck to her - and you of course. What breed is your dog?
We'll, Betty had 8 lovely pups this morning.
It's amazing how instinct kicks in, she's a natural mum.
(Does that make me a Grandad?)
Cheers,
Adam.
fantastic litter. In the animal kingdom, nothing looks better than a mum taking care of her kids. No matter how ferocious the animal is, their kids are #1.
Please keep on posting pics!
Made the mistake of showing Betty's litter to my wife. She now wants the black and white pup.
