Really enjoyed Prey. Grey man not so much but it was entertaining enough
I recently watched an old film (1947) called Gentleman's Agreement.
I found it enlightening, infuriating and moving in much the same vein as the later To Kill A Mockingbird...coincidence that Gregory Peck played the lead in both, but he played his role well.
Watched Prey last night, pretty good overall, but i thought the CGI of the animals was awful, they all just looked and moved wrong
Prey was much better than expected.
(And Grey Man was unwatchable...simply awful.)
Here’s a goodie, well I thought so.
Whiplash on Netflix.
No bondage involved, sorry to say, but quite a lot of colourful language. If your a jazz fan you might enjoy this, but I thought it was really good.
Just finished 'Villain' on Netflix. Low budget gritty British crime drama. Not perfect but worth a watch.
The original w. Burton and mcshane or a remake?

Suspected it was, from your comments. The original is a minor cracker in the Get Carter mold. From 1971. Ian McShane is Burton's lover. The scenario is broadly taken from one of the Krays. Well worth watching.

Good heads-up. You'll have fun, if grimy 70s sleazy crime is your thing.

Prey worth a watch, back to the original Predator blue print, brain switched off 100mins of bloodbath action, cgi could have been better on the bear but solid
6.5/10

Sold. Get Carter is in my top 10 of all time (along with Long Good Friday and Sexy Beast). I just got the BFI blurry release. Glorious.
Tht's tonight's viewing sorted (although does require activation of StudioCanal channel 'free trial').
Hope you enjoy it. You have the same taste as myself so I'm hopeful.

I mean most have probably seen it, but In Bruge is an all time favourite, just perfection from start to finish!
Need to watch that again. Sent from my Redmi Note 9S using TZ-UK mobile app
Rogue Agent Netflix worth a watch, loosely based on a true story

Brad Pitt in Bullet Train is a loser. It attempts to employ the Marvel-type of mod-madness, but doesn't pull it off. Too bad...
Watched Elvis last night, not sure how much of a insight it was but overall it was well done and enjoyable.

The Man from Toronto is not bad if you like Kevin Hart?
It's called Le Mans 66 in the UK.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Thanks for the recommendation. Not perfect but I enjoyed it. I activated the Studio Canal free trial and can highly recommend the following:
"Spoorloos" (original 'The Vanishing' with a grown up ending).
'Gomorrah' haunting Italian crime drama.
'Animal Kingdom' Australian crime drama. Brilliant.
'Alphaville' I'm in love with Anna Karina
'Hell or High Water' sublime crime drama set in Texas. One of the best films I've seen all year. Outstanding performances all round.
Hustle - Adam Sandler Netflix drama about basketball. It's a slightly by the numbers drama, with all the highs and lows and montages of training etc. But, it's very good at what it does. Really enjoyed it, some of the stuff was esoteric about the game and went over my head, but you pick it up/don't need to know too much.
Another vote for Elvis. Pretty good.
Just watched The Hidden (1987). Apparently a bit of a cult classic.
Very pleasantly surprised. Well made, good script and kept me watching.
Worth a watch.
Prey - a predator prequel was really good , on Disney
On Netflix, a film about the history of Last of the Summer Wine, quite charming.
Watched “the grey man” last night, thoroughly enjoyable for what it is.
The Age of Adeline. Quite a decent film, free on Prime.
Another vote for 'Thirteen Lives'.
Loved it.
Moonfall is both Chinese propaganda and also makes absolutely no sense at all - I recommend it.
Not comparable to Bourne, Gray Man is a comic book character (not literally) and the movie reflects that. It’s easy to spend a huge amount of money when you have stellar names like Gosling and Evans though, plus billy bob thornton and ana de armas
Gosling came across as a low rent Ryan Reynolds on the film, missing some of his quips and charm
I found it an enjoyable, though instantly forgettable, romp in common with much of the Sky/Netflix fodder nowadays.
Blacksite on Sky.
If you watch the trailer you’ve seen the film, to be blunt.
Forgettable, certainly.
Is it (meant to be) a Bourne competitor? Joe Russo certainly referenced Bourne and Bond in all the publicity interviews, the plot is about a super-assassin who's now being pursued by the very people who trained him, it runs across multiple European countries? The difference is that the action sequences in Bourne are palpably real, the car chases have obviously real crashes, the hero gets wounded and makes mistakes. Essentially, Bourne isn't a hero and certainly doesn't want to be one.
The Russo brothers need to stick with superhero films - they're rubbish at real-world action stuff.
