    39mm watches

    38mm to 40mm is the magic dimension for me. Anything within that range always seems to fit and look perfect. Having said that the 36mm Explorer and Datejust (and homages of them) work well too.

    Anything larger has to be carefully proportioned to avoid poking out, looking a bit daft, and catching doorframes of course. Best example of a large piece I ever had was a spectacular Zinex 1,000m diver which had lume all over it in several colours. Can't remember the name now, but boy did it wear well for a big'un.

    **Edit**

    It was the Zinex Nitrox. 45mm but wore like a 40mm.
