I have. Miele washer dryer. It’s 25 years old and never misses a beat. These things cost more but go on and on. JL is where I go first.
This...walked 200 yards to the local white goods emporium. "What have you got for £500?". A Siemens IQ 300 with a 5 year warranty. "I'll take it". They delivered and installed 2 hours later, plumbed it in, took the old one away. It's been running faultlessly for over 10 years. Result.

We just had to replace ours. Purchased an LG from John Lewis for £500. They fitted it an took the old one away. Great service.
I was on John Lewis today and took a look at the Miele washing machine range. Peeled back the rubber liner at the front of the cheapest one and could see that the outer tub was plastic.
I spoke to the sales person and he said that the two base models where now made in Poland and have a cheaper plastic outer tub, pretty much like every other brand of washing machine.
If you want the Made in Germany model with a traditional outer stainless steel tub you now have to fork out the minimum of a grand.
Anyone remember Bendix, we had one when we first got married and lasted for years
We bought the base model German-made Miele when we moved to our current property 2 years ago.
It has been a revelation in terms of how clean it gets our clothes, and how well it cares for delicate fabrics that otherwise would be impossible to machine wash.
I think it was about £899 when we bought it, so £1k for the equivalent today sounds about right.
Just like with most things in life, you buy cheap and you buy twice.
My blind faith in Miele has been shaken.

We bought a Bosch from John Lewis for £479 in October.
They included a 2 year warranty & it was extended to 5 years when registered Bosch.
Seemed a good deal at the time (...I see it's £579 now)

Our LG is is going great. Although I thought the pump had knackered the other day. Then I checked my filter.
All good after emptying.
My son recently had a pump fitted on a 2year old Bosch , he asked the fitter what brand he would currently recommend, his reply “ Siemens” as Bosch , Zanussi and the other premier machines of the past are not of the quality mechanically or cabinet wise they once were .
Not a recommendation from me , just passing on a recommendation from someone at the coal face .

Someone here is way too tight for Miele I think.
