Thanks to this thread, and my love of chocolate stouts, I have tried and consequently ordered a nuclear bunker’s supply worth of this delicious beauty!

On-topic cry for help.
I have booked my cronies and myself in for a week's camping at a Batemen's pub in Lincolnshire; all done by phone, so no chance of sampling.
I have a very dim recollection of the Batemans range, so wouldn't mind refreshing my palate in order to assess the likelihood of my getting lynched by the baying mob of disaffected drinkers.
The tasting notes in the GBG are as much use as tits on a nun, so I wonder if I may ask the beeristas on here to keep half an eye open for any Bateman's products that may be available for me to taste in Manchester or that may be orderable by courier.
The only way that I can find is to order a polypin; as I don't have any friends, that would be overkill. I am a couple of pints a night man when at home, and that is Hecks cider.
This correspondent is supping Orkney Dragon Head stout as he writes, excellent . . .

Visiting my niece in York at the weekend and I spent some time in The House of Trembling Madness. Bought the last of their stock of Sam Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout and some other beers from the darker side. I will report back on the Nightmare porter later this evening.

Nightmare porter was OK, quite fruity (like a plum porter) but with hints of spice and at 5% it was very drinkable. Added it to my 'will drink again' list.

Just back from Clitheroe, the Bowland Brewery Beer Hall is magnificent, 36 hand pumps (not all on!) but had a lovely Burnt Toast stout among many others. Cheers John B4IMG_5689.jpg

It’s currently a balmy +7c, I am sitting in a hoodie and gortex and they still serve it in a frozen glass.
Last night in the mountains and I will be sorry to return to Athens tomorrow. At least it’s shorts weather there.
Quick trip to Mons in Belgium this week. Had lunch in a brew pub and brought back a bottle of their brewed-on-the-premises lager. 10.5% ABV.
Lunch meet up at West Riding on Dewsbury station , starting with a White Rat, few other stronger ones may sample later.

The adventure in Greek craft beer continues
It’s really rather good
Just completed the NC500 (again) but with madam on the back this time, on the GS1200, and having a couple of nights in Drumnadrochit before heading home to Fife.
The Benleva Hotel have their own brewery ‘The Hanging Tree’, and this is their lovely Hangman’s IPA.
Their 80 shillings and First Light are just as delicious! Excellent place with a proper pub!

Just called in Granville’s for a quick one , Anthology Tony , dry Irish stout, very nice.
Good selection on and some good ones coming, 1 - 10 keg 11 - 15 cask

Pint of West Berks Brewery “Good Old Boy” bitter at the Black Horse in Chekendon. And my trusty steed that took me there and back.
And while I’m at it, these were bloody lovely when I got home!
Another week of Oncall means no beer until Monday but I did treat myself to this the last time I was at the House of Trembling Madness in York.
It was very pleasing, plenty of beery flavour with a subtle liquorice tang. Probably one of the best no-alcohols I've had and quite a decent substitute for the real thing but at £2.75 a pop it's not one I'd be doing regularly.

Probably my favourite tipple. I just wish it was a percent weaker

It seems that craft brewing has reached France.
A very drinkable Stout/brown ale courtesy of la brasserie des Herbes Sauvages.
Ka Pai. A South Pacific Pale Ale from a favourite brewery of mine, Stewart Brewing in Edinburgh.
Clear as a bell, and a delicious 5.2%!
