Last year, I had a conversation with an older gentleman down the road. He's retired and he's a beekeeper. He has the hives on his own grounds and the bees tend to find honey around the hives. I asked him about what type of flowers I should sow to attract bees in the Summer.
He gave me a list and a few websites where I could order pre-packed bundles of domestic (is that the correct term here?) flower seeds. April would be the perfect time to sow them. I've ordered bundles of seeds for about 250m2 and I'm sowing it later this week, when the weather will improve (it's absolutely soaking wet here at the moment).
Bees have a hard life nowadays. A bundle of seeds doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Perhaps it's an idea to get a few bundles of seeds so that you can sow them one of these weeks.

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
In a sunny area the plants that attract the most bees for longest are cotoneaster, oregano, and lavender. Rosemary is useful for early spring (now). Don't forget that pollen is as important as nectar.
Thanks Ralph, ordered some too!

And I have ordered, as I leave a "bee and insect friendly" section of my garden.
Just ordered a couple of packs.

Great! Your response & action was the intention of starting this thread!!!
I heard some conservation bod on the radio a while ago, who was saying that it's wild bees and bumblebees that are mostly in trouble, and honeybees (as in, those kept by bee keepers) are relatively OK. To that end, here's a helpful page from BBC Gardeners World: https://www.gardenersworld.com/plant...or-bumblebees/
Good suggestion just ordered a couple of packs. Hope they work better than the ones I bought from Homebase planted 2 packets, not a bloomin' bloom. I could hardly take them back, great scam ,eh ???
