Some Omega Speedmasters aren’t limited but are still virtually unobtainable.

    Are there any queues already?

Anyone passing take a few snaps and post on here.

Let’s see who is the first on here to blow £2k+ on a full set.

    Aye since 8 apparently.
Some of the insta traders are now apparently paying people to go queue so its has the potential to turn into quite the bunfight imo.
Given that they're not limited edition and will eventually go to online sale, I think that there are going to be some burnt fingers if people start paying crazy money.

I went into swatch today and was told online release will be June / July.
If people want the latest thing the prices on eBay will stay strong

That is mad, but I remember when Paul McCartney was coming to W H Smiths in Liverpool to sign copies of a new autobiography years ago people were there for several days and the outside resembled a night club with an organised queuing system with ropes and barriers etc.

The wife used to collect Swatch back in the 80s and we went in the Oxford Street store a few times, which at the time was the only one in the country. They did eventually open one in Liverpool, but that’s long gone now.

Look forward to the new arrivals thread tomorrow.

I will be there at 06:00. Fingers crossed there won’t be a million scalpers in line!

My first watch was a Swatch, it died and I replaced it with a pop swatch.
Eh I wonder if I raise my previous purchase history with them if Ill be able to get on the list

MrsV was on Oxford st at around 3 and said there was quite a big queue of people. I wonder how big it will end up being, and how many watches each shop has got waiting.

I expected something like that date for online, and even then it'll probably keep crashing and be difficult to grab the one you want.

These will sell for bonkers money for a few weeks at least, crazy to think people will probably pay several hundred just for the privilege of having one early. The way of the world these days though, nobody wants to wait for anything.

Feel bad for whoever is going to be duped into paying £3,550 for a Speedmaster when they can get one for £207 if they wait a few weeks for the hype to die down.

I honestly think they are bloody marvellous. I keep dropping hints to the mrs that I want to drive to edinburgh tomorrow but she’s not having it (birthday)

Plan would be to go on Sunday but I have a feeling by then it might be too late

Does anyone know if anyone is already outside the edinburgh shop?

Would be amazing if these were mass produced and readily available on day one - would teach the scalpers a lesson

Just mad. Queuing for something that will readily available in a few weeks. If these were Casio I doubt anyone would be queueing. I'm sure other well known brands will be watching this development closely.

They did. When the G Shock full metals and the gold and Porter limited editions came out you had to queue at the London store.

No-one, went for a peek in the window on the way to the pub.

    A) because it would be riduclous due the works directly outside of the shop, honesrly hardly enough space for regular doot traffic.

    B) store manager was clearly warning folk anyone arriving prior to 8am tomorrow that the police would be there to move them on. (This is mainly becuae of there needs to be access for surrounding retailers to take deliveries prior to 8am and any quese would cause an obstruction)

I think these are great. If I wasn't working tomorrow I'd head down for opening.

Hopefully they replenish the stock fairly soon after the day 1 rush, but I guess it could be a while.

If anyone is serious going down, I’d be very grateful if they would kind enough to purchase one for me. Will obviously reimburse and add something to the fundraiser.

Long shot I know. DM me if at at possible.

I need a wee just looking at pictures of the people queuing up outside. I don't know how they don't need the toilet every 5 minutes. As soon as i'm at the football, or a concert somewhere and i'm not in an aisle seat I need the toilet constantly because I know it's a faff to go!

Many of them look like they're just waiting casually, still with bags on, as if they're going to walk in in a few minutes' time. Baffling.

I'm having second thoughts as well. Seeing goons camping out puts me off the watch for some reason.

You have to remember not one single person in that queue will be wearing one of those watches tomorrow. Sacrifice a night in the City, blow a few grand and double your money. It’s a good pay day for 12 hours work.

If it’s max 2 per person, they’ll have to be flipping for some premium to make it worthwhile. Wonder if they’ll limit to one per person if there are genuinely queues round the block.

  45. #195
My son is new to watch collecting and wanted one simply to wear. He's in Australia and got to the Sydney branch around 0930hrs. Massive queues, and police turning people back. In fact he's just managed to actually get into the store only to be told that they'll only be serving those with advance tickets that were given out to those that had queued from 2300 hrs the night before. I don't think any watch is 'worth' this.

Wishing the best of luck to the people in the queues. May you be blessed with the design of your choice.

8am ish here in Tokyo and in an hour or so I will amble off to the Shibuya Swatch shop. I will return with either a new plastic toy, or a photo of a queue for our ridicule and amusement. It’s a win either way.

Each of them can only buy two of them from each shop, and getting to the others given they're queuing for one now, means they'll be at the back of the queue for the other shops after they've opened.
I'd be surprised if any one person can get more than 4, at a push.

Good luck to them though. I was just thinking about how I'd never do such a thing. And then remembered being a yoof and having left a friend's house party after midnight to go and buy the latest Harry Potter book.
I never actually read it! Still somewhere in my parents' bookshelves.
