If anyone is considering paying these inflated prices I'd like to put it on record that I have a bridge in London I can sell you.

The moonwatch is indeed a better Swatch homage!

People are already queuing and have been since this morning.

Not sure which store this is as a friend of mine sent me the image who lives in London. I had convinced him to go there Saturday morning for me but have told him not to bother now.

They look great IRL, much more ceramic than plastic.

can you only buy in person and do they limit them? I'd like a couple of colours but someone will chance going in and buying the stock. Brilliant concept imo

I love these and will be buying them if I can get hold of them.

Most likely Mars (always loved that Project Alaska theme) and the beige one (is that Jupiter?)

It amazes me that anyone would pay enough over list to make spending 24 hours sitting outside a shop a viable way to earn a living.
From another forum, apparently the queues dispersed after this was put in the window of the HongKong branch.

Well, what they want isn't on sale until Saturday morning, and I very much doubt the shop wants them inside until then.

Because the store is open, but you can’t buy one until tomorrow?

that pic from the HK shop is exactly how this watch thing should be unless it is a genuine limited edition. Put that in every dealer window. That cheeky Uranus/tiffany Blue. Fantastic. Yes sir, it is a limited edition. We've limited you buying them all.

The smart move would be to offer a vagrant some cans of White Lightening to lie outside the Swatch store, then swap places with him at 8:59 on Saturday morning.

If anyone would like to pay my return train fare and supply a commensurate amount of White Lightning I'd be happy to hold a place in the queue for him/her. I would, of course, bring my own packed supper and breakfast.

    How big is his family?
Ignoring the bonkers ebay listings at £10k+ I'd say a realistic flip value on Sunday when the stores are sold out and the online store isn't live yet is about £500 so that's £600 profit per pair if there's 4 of you that's clearing £2400 which isn't bad for a weekends work but not enough for me to get the wife and kids to sleep rough on the streets of London or Edinburgh on a Friday night.
If you're working solo, if you've been there 24 hours you're working for £25 an hour, which isn't bad but there's easier ways to make a living.....and I hope the online store goes live on Sunday wiping off any premium value straight away and these people are stuck with 2 watched they don't want and have to sell at list price.

In China it is quite common to pay for someone to queue up on your behalf. In the case of this watch I have seen people offering to queue and buy the watch for RMB 3100 in total.

I have videos of crazy long queues in Shanghai and now there is a rumour going around that Swatch have been told to cancel the sale due to police concerns about the spread of Covid. I think that’s only a rumour but you never know as there are very strict controls in Shanghai right now.

you tell the person infront or behind you and go to the toilet and come back.

    not that complex.

Good luck with that when people are this determined; it's not a traditional queue with the usual etiquette!

Not limited and not going to be boutique exclusive and that’s from Omega apparently- not sure why the queues - seems a bit odd

I love how youre describing this like I couldn't possibly have thought of it.

Have you ever been to a new release scrum?
I was at one once that was not watch related and a fight broke out when a guy tried to get back to his spot in the queue after leaving it.

As these are cheaply made, I assume you can swap about the parts if you prefer a different colour combination?

The challenge will be getting them apart without damage - they're usually designed to prevent any such dismantling other than battery replacement (which is a standalone access point on the back).

Experience dictates that when launches generate so much attention and scope for a quick buck, there's no hold the line and save my spot.
