There may be quite a few in the AD’s windows from next month is the rumour circulating has any truth in it.
Even if they do, they will all be sold before hitting the window, that is not going to change anytime soon.
Saw this today:

I didn’t pay that much for my house.
Must remain positive, must remain positive…
Here’s a house for less than £77k!
Granted, you probably wouldn’t want to live there but they are available.

Some of these were/are worth less than £77K. Although the coming of the space port might stimulate prices a bit...
Bucherer in Zermatt today , Pepsi in both Jubilee and Oyster models , Bat girl and numerous other well sought after models , walked in and tried a couple on , had a chat with the SA and as expected all models were exhibition only and no more forward orders were being accepted.
Well impressed with the girl who spent 5 minutes with me as I’d called in on the off chance before my train left.
At Zurich airport, the same dealer had a good selection of exhibition watches again including a Platinum Daytona , which to be fair I never expected to see one in the flesh , same high level of service , very polite and honest.
Interesting point she made was all the internally displayed exhibition models were normal watches , the higher value display watches in the window were identical in weight but with no internal workings , I’m assuming she’s correct with that description.
No idea but I went in to WoS Broadgate Circle, London, and as per usual all watches were exhibition only. However all the ones I held were legit with working movements.
I'm not sure there would be any merit in not putting a movement in a very expensive piece that ultimately will need to be sold one day.
I would have said that dummy inserts would make sense - let people handle them how they like and send back to Rolex eventually. not a great financial loss and guarantees that the watches sold - are as supplied.
But -this thread has now morphed into "Tell us where you have handled a Rolex" one, which is pretty pointless.
I know, it's very sad actually.
I've never felt as distant from the brand as I currently do now. Certainly paying more attention to other companies nowadays.
Oh, and speaking of Rolex having very few pieces...the Broadgate store has 1 AP. One!! What's even the point stocking the brand! The display cabinet looks stupid.
Would you not have come to that conclusion if you had tried a non-functional model? (one - completely genuine with the exception of a block of resin inside which emulated the weight and distribution of a movement)
That was my point - the dealer and the 'customer' don't need to treat the 'models' with kid-gloves when they know at the end of (say 12months) - they simply get the case and bracelet refinished at RSC. (it isn't a customer's watch)
Just my thought on the 'process' .
Lucked out at my AD earlier. Both Milgauss together!! Rarely seen one let alone both at the same time.

Unfortunately I wasn't offered the opportunity to walk out with one...

I was walking past a stranger on the street this morning and I could not help but notice the reflection of their bi-metal Submariner in the window of my local patisserie.
Luckily I have a purchase history with Greggs, so I nipped in for a steak slice to contemplate the experience. Sausage rolls were sold out, but the staff were very accommodating.
I was not given a discount, but I did receive a branded paper bag and soft napkin.
(seems about as relevant as anything else on this thread..)
Hulk and Batman in the window of Rolex shop in Covent Garden today with list prices (£8.4/5k from memory). Didn’t bother going in, just assumed they weren’t available to actually buy.
It was Bucherer in Royal Opera House if anyone fancies being laughed at.
