The Transparente is a new one
This came in my inbox, looks some some nice items from JLC:

I had no idea they were so expensive new. Glad mine wasn't!
I think I paid about £800 for my mine 2ndhand.
Same here. There's a thread on here from a couple of years ago; I think there are nearly 20 Atmos owners on TZ
Out of interest, how accurate are these clocks - is timekeeping on par with a good watch?
Really love these and would like to own one but I couldn’t just have £8k sat on the mantle.
The Atmos is good but does not even compare to the Comitti Navigator. Its movement is almost hypnotic.

I have just inherited an atmos from the 70s.
Surprise surprise, it doesn't work and not the type of thing you can pop into your local watchmaker with

What powers these?
A temperature sensitive bellows filled with ethyl chloride, which is volatile at room temperature and thus wanders between the liquid and gaseous state as the room changes temperature. This causes the bellows to expand and contract and this action is used to wind the mechanism through a chain.

Been looking for one for a while now - on eBay anything in a gold finish is in the hundreds, silver finish - thousands.
Beautiful clock.

I bought mine off ebay, mainly because it was very close. £800 or so should be enough to get one or they do seem to be quite a lot cheaper in the States but then there is the issue of getting it here..
Count the number of segments that pass a given point on each rotation. Much less than 12 and it is going to need a service. Certainly my local clock repairer is happy to see them so I doubt it would cause too many issues to get it looked at.
Beautiful clocks.
A piece of art and very accurate
I have two, both bought from Www.Gutlin.com
More expensive than eBay, but they are renowned Atmos experts and all their clocks come freshly serviced and warranted.
Had mine a few years now, just under £1K off ebay, been faultless.
I fancy the moonphase but they never seem to come up...
