I really like it, and would overlook the stupid name to have one in a heartbeat if I could afford it.
I think the design of the lugs is interesting. I've seen that semi-fixed bar idea used on rucksack buckles and so on, but never on a watch before.
That is a bit daft. Unless it comes with a mount to place on the outside of a bathysphere, what's the point?
I love divers and pilots, which I may never use in their intended, but 6000 m?
I know!
The irony is not lost on me :)
I once had 20 minutes at the controls of a Cessna, I have three pilot watches :)
However, I did use a TAG for the open water and advanced open water licences, so I'm not all talk! Even that was 200m rated. Our deepest dive was 30m!
I've twice stood in awe of the A-12 on the deck of the USS Intrepid - I reckon that entitles me to own an original Accutron Astronaut.
The new steel they’ve developed appears the most interesting part of this watch. Apparently it’s 50% harder than 316L, has double the yield rating and is more white and carries a better shine. If this is true and used across the Omega range it’s got to be good.
To me the bezel feels a bit too wide (which makes the dial look small-ish). But apart from that it Rocks. It is the diver tool watch to have. A Tudor FXD on steroids. Go Omega.

The Swiss have made waiting a luxury experience. ~ Andrew McUtchen
If they bring some of the updated design language from this, to the regular PO range then it would make for a great refresh of that line.
Lots of comments on here that the bezel is too thick. While I tend to agree, I'm not sure we haven't all been so brainwashed by Rolex that all we're really saying is that the watch in question deviates from its Rolex equivalent. And when it doesn't, we criticise it for being too similar :(
OK, the asking price is eyewatering and would require me to sell a chunk of the collection, but the more I see it, the more I think it's a very handsome thing indeed built with some really interesting tech. Because I haven't really taken much notice in the past, do Omega tend to get watches to their dealers quite quickly after launch or are we talking summer?
Is it wrong that I really like the white and blue one?

Seiko is such a riddle. It amazes me how much specs vary within one of their brands. I hadn’t realised they were innovating this way.
I remember seeing some macro shots of GS finishing and entry level stuff was shocking, whilst the more expensive watches were exquisite. I’d wrongly assumed, finishing would be similar across the GS range
I actually quite like it - but too large for me.
I see what people mean about Omegas recent releases being imitations of the industry superpower, but the Ultra Deep takes on the DSSD and comprehensively out specs it.
I always had a weird soft spot for the Ploprof - but my criticism of it was that it was massive and rolex did the same job at a smaller size with the regular SD - but this watch, albeit ungainly, has taken up the challenge of the closest rival and, in performance terms, surpassed it. Fair play. The figures are there - all other opinions are just that.
Edit :- Itll be interesting to see the eventual counter punch from rolex - theyve never seemed overly bothered with Omegas space theme, but I doubt theyll let them have the sea!
The difference, perhaps, will be that rolex will surpass the world record, but see it as beneath them to do a production model - lets see..

I'm intrigued by it. The DSSD wears pretty well for the size (when viewed from the natural distance people will typically see the watch from), and this isn't too far away. I have a hankering or something a bit more "fun" and this might fit the bill nicely.
Easy peasy! Just get this bad boy into production. I thought the outsized bezel on the Ultra Deep looked familiar!

Hmm... confusing - Omega are claiming the deepest dive, but the Hodinkee article appears to say rolex pipped them by a few feet...
Edit... sorry - other way round - Omega beats rolex 10925m to 10898... Nothing in it really... both very impressive,
Omega, however has "beaten" rolex for the time being in both the record and the current deepest production diver of the two brands.

Nice Invicta.
Ohhh, it's Omega....
Nice video review showing all variations here. In terms of the size, if you don’t like big watches, this clearly isn’t for you but this is the same diameter as the existing PO Chrono, and a bit slimmer. Personally I really like it
I cant stand that "ultra deep" on the dial. Imagination zero. Sounds more like a porn movie. I do like everything else...
42mm with maybe 16mm deep would have been killer. Even if they would have stopped at 4000m (just to beat the DSSD).
As is, it's just too big and heavy for me (and I assume most).
You said you "cant stand" the words "Ultra Deep". Im just saying that its a fairly good way of explaining what it does in a limited amount of dial real estate.
There is one brand in particular I could refer to who would have done so in a substantially more pretentious way - bless 'em! :)
Marketing would never just quietly let 6000m hit the market!

I have to say I like the Ti version. Probably way too big....but hey. So is the Ploprof and 600m Tuna (as well as a few others).
I admire Omega for doing this and enjoyed the documentary on YouTube about it. An astronaut who has spacewalker and been to the deepest trenches of the ocean... impressive.

I like the look of the Ti too, but only available on nato, and that adds another 2mm to the depth. Don’t understand that for a watch of this size. The rubber straps look good, but why a buckle only and not a clasp like other POs on rubber. So it has to be bracelet, steel and one of the shiny bezels
