You're missing Taiwan as it definitely went there with me :)
So, I am now in possession of the watch and it will be joining me on the Aurora trip on Saturday. I will try and get the Sqn
Leader of the Red Arrows to wear it too.
Just seen this ^^^
Did he actually wear it??! Awesome.
Right,
Finally got around to updating the website tonight. The watch is now back with me and in view of what is going on, shall be for the foreseeable!
Really enjoying having it at the moment. Though far from battered, it's picking up a few battle scars that are helping to tell it's story, (there is a mark on the bezel insert that happened whilst it was attempting the summit of Everest for example!)
It has now covered an impressive 142,087 miles, over five and a half times around the globe.
We still have a couple of things to tick off the list, (I WILL get it to the top of Everest), along with some very willing members here you would still like to join in. I feel it'll run into 2021 definitely and then we'll see.
What I'm after now, is help to grow the social media presence.
Rather than type all this twice, here is a link to the other thread:

Long story short, looking for help to grow the online presence of the project.
And...
Looking for anything to South America, Russia, Australia etc..
Look at the map, if it hasn't been there and your'e going, get in touch!
Time to open the 2021 appointments book...
how to screen capture
Just a bump for this.
Anyone got any upcoming travel plans? (although appreciate it's not the best time!
Happy to take it out on Sydney Harbour if someone can get it here. Possibly could take it skiing in the Snowy Mountains in August, too.
I’m doing an on/off road motorcycle competition in June. Nowhere fancy (Devon/Cornwall) but it’s overnight and about 12-16 hours long covering about 300 miles.

Update and bump
Been a quiet year for the watch - as expected.
However, I'm still keen to get a few more miles / experiences under its belt before it goes under the hammer.
My brother in law has just got back from the Olympics so we can tick Japan off the list. I'd still like to get it to Oz, Russia, Canada and any far flung places it can. And still desperate to get it to the top of Everest. It was ssssooooo close a couple of years ago.
So please, if you can help this project get back on its feet after Covid, get in touch!
Here it is at the closing ceremony and up SkyTree, the worlds tallest building.

Evening all,
a bump for this.
I'm having an absolute nightmare logging on to the forum at the moment - I can only seem to do it from one computer (which is not my everyday one!)
But the watch is still here with me and awaiting it's next intrepid adventure.
So, if you've got anything planned, please do get in touch. I'd still dearly love to see it top Everest. I'd also like it to get across to Australia and Russia (although I realise that may not be a wise move at the moment).
But anything else anyone has planned to add to it's story, let me know!
I'll keep a check on my PM's every few days so don't be shy!

Wonderful stuff Matthew! So glad to see it out and about again.
Sorry for the sparse updates with this.
It's taken some doing but the watch is currently in transit to the Ukraine thanks to a very kind member on here.
More to follow as I get it.

TakeTime watch on tour in Ukraine (posting on behalf of DaveO'Sullivan)
After the teasers (now admittedly some time ago) we have the full story (although probably redacted). I can't take any credit for this trip, I am merely filling Mercury's rather fetching winged sandals. So here is the message:
This update is long overdue – the more attentive TZers may have noticed that the Take Time watch went on a summer visit to Ukraine. So far we’ve only made one contribution to the Friday thread so probably best to get some more content up before the next individual takes it on its next adventure. This trip actually took place in June/July.
A relaxing beer the night before crossing the border
I’ve been through the Medyka crossing a few times though not in the extremely early days of the conflict. Once you get out of whatever transport takes you to the border you have a 300 metre or so walk where every flavour of charity, mobile phone network etc has a tent. I have a recollection of children’s jugglers (clearly the apostrophe is key here) but none were plying their trade during this visit. A quick pitstop in a petrol station after the border and we have a power cut in the gents, mid-motion, so to speak. You will all be relieved to here that the TT lume is more than up to the task.
It should be added that infrastructure largely worked flawlessly in the parts of Ukraine visited during this trip – not something that could be said nowadays.
Most of the trip was spent in what can best be described as west-central Ukraine and here are a few pictures out and about.
Hello girls.
On the tram to the old town – a UK debit card worked flawlessly just like on TFL
(One of) the local police stations. Picture taken very carefully.
They have some interesting public service announcements at the local tram stops. Some really helpful advice on the best ways to defeat tanks and APCs with a Molotov cocktail
I’d like to say that this was the culinary highlight of the trip:
But actually it was easily surpassed by the most sublime nuts on the planet. I cannot recommend Big Bob’s cheesy nuts highly enough.
Washed down with beer from the Lviv Brewery.
But worry not if your palate cannot cope with strange foreign beer.
On the way out again I was slightly surprised to see a Moonswatch on someone at the border passing in the opposite direction. Good job it was the green one otherwise I might have been jealous.
And then some interesting scenery at the airport on the way out.
And a quick shot in front of not-the-Russian-Foreign-Ministry before exiting back to blighty.
And that was it.
Thanks for passing on.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
The watch really is finding it’s self in crazy places
Glad you are back safe and sound
Amazing. I think that's the 2nd most dangerous place the watch has been to after Streatham.
Thanks a lot for sharing that with us.

Hi all,
Still struggling to log on frequently (bloody IT) but just to thank all involved in this epic trip. I met up with the aforementioned members for a beer and was briefly reunited with the watch. It's picking up some nice patina from it's travels.
And another shout out - if any member has something interesting coming up, get in touch! Probably easier on email as it's sent straight to my phone. thetaketimeproject@gmail.com

I'm afraid that my latest little jaunt with the Take Time watch was neither as risky as its previous outing or as exotic as where it seems to be currently. A pleasant few days working in Brussels (where I don't think it's been to before) the highlight of which was probably dinner at Au Vieux Saint Martin. It also managed to take in the Manneken Pis
And the owner of the Belgian Congo
The Take Time watch spent the first few weeks of the year with me, before heading to more exotic locales. Activities were fairly low key, but always enjoyable.
We visited historic Shrewsbury prison on New Year's Day.
Went to see Stewart Lee, the 41st Best Standup Ever.
A recording of The Infinite Monkey Cage at the BBC Radio Theatre where we learnt how to commit the perfect crime.
Visited Enigma Machines in three different locations.
And took some time out for quiet contemplation.

Dave dropping into the G&D has reminded me to post an update. Recently the TakeTime watch has been heading out to visit a couple of 'stans with a good friend who also only looks in here occasionally, so I am doing the honours.
Here it is taking in the rather impressive view in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Before moving on to Astana, Kazakhstan. He said that it was too cold for a wrist shot outside on the frozen river

Continuing to clock up the miles, although not quite so remote. Visiting some favourite spots in Budapest.

The TakeTime watch visited Armenia for a week in late March, and then accompanied a group of TZ members on a lovely visit to Transylvania where we experienced wonderful hospitality and enjoyed exploring and relaxing in and around Cluj, Sibiu, Cisnădioara, Bran and Brasov. The weather was unexpected, but added something rather special to the adventure.
The watch is now heading over the Atlantic, to join another forum member for some very interesting sounding experiences...

This looks suspiciously like King Ottokar's Sceptre

Snowballs did ensue...

The watch is now safely with goz211, AKA Garret, who is based in Oregon. I am posting this update on his behalf.
It was something of a relief when the watch was delivered safely after what appeared to be two failed delivery attempts but turned out to be just a DHL driver running out of time.
Today I received an update from Garret:
"I had a short business trip to Denver, Colorado last week and the Take Time watch accompanied me to the 5th game of the Colorado Avalanche (2022 league champions) v. Seattle Kraken, National Hockey League playoff game. The Kraken won and also went on to win the series in game 7. The stadium was within walking distance of my hotel and I was lucky to get a last minute ticket. My first NHL game too."
"After Thursday work meetings, I drove 60 miles north to the Stanley Hotel. The Stanley is a grand hotel on 60 acres that is the inspiration for Stephen King’s novel, The Shining. While spending the night there in 1974, King had the worst nightmare of his life. He woke up and quickly drafted the beginning, middle and end of what became the plot for the book. The Stanley is over 100 years old and is considered to be haunted. Pretty sure I caught a ghost image in the reflection of a mirror. I had an Old Fashioned at the hotel bar and discussed life with with the bartender."
Fantastic stuff.

OH FAB! The Stanley is on my "going there" list!

Feels like a rather urgent sentiment at the moment. Learn how to share this precious planet.
