We’d spend all day there - only returning home for food.

I don't know why, but I decided to go through a couple of boxes of old photos last night, and one of them reminded me that we were talking on another thread about the amazing Johnny Seven OMA from back in the day. Consequently, I was delighted to discover a forgotten photo of the beauty (the gun, not me). Assuming I was around 6 or 7 at the time it must be from about 1966/67.
I used to set the gun up in the hall, lay down on the floor and shoot anyone who came in the front door (usually Grandpa, who was always popping in wearing his long white chef’s jacket - well, in those days they were more like coats - and smelling of freshly baked bread). Not sure why I was wearing a tie, but perhaps we were going out for lunch or something. God, I loved that gun
Please share your own images, if you have any, that send the memories flooding back... I need to find one I have somewhere of my old CG125, after riding it home from Norwich to Golders Green!

What a lovely thread, and a great counterpoint to much of the content on here.
My old pics are in storage but I will dig one out when I can.
Aged 8 - on the aft capstan of the iron ore ship my father was Chief Engineer on. We used to go as a family on voyages during school holidays.
Plastic Sunnysan sandals and arms like porridge spurtles
I can still smell the fuel oil in my mind.
I have no photos of me as a child.
The earliest one of me that I know of was taken when I started with the NHS, aged 22, and then no more till aged -30. I still hate having my photo taken.
Me on the right, on an important construction job with my best friend.
Couple years later....
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Me at two years old with my lovely Nan and Grandad, both old time Londoners.

Crumpled old photo from 1973 when I was 14
Not sure what was going on with the hair - other than it along with the penchant for wearing a jaunty handkerchief in the top pocket of my jacket meant I had to be ever vigilant for the gangs of skinheads that roamed the North East at the time. As soon as I was able, at the age of 16, I headed off to the far more cosmopolitan climes of London.

Great thread, when you just wanted to play out all the time, wind rain or shine and always late in and in trouble
Homemade go karts, remember it fondly, used to spend more time falling off racing downhill

This was taken on the Jos Plateau in central Nigeria on the way from Zaria to Yankari Game reserve, around 1974. I absolutely loved climbing (still do) and really enjoyed clambering up the many inselbergs on the route. Nigeria was incredibly safe for kids in the '70s so my brother and I enjoyed a lot of freedom to explore, heading off on our bicycles at every opportunity. My mother would have a heart attack if she knew half of the stuff that we got up to.

You'd be forgiven for mistaking me for a fashion icon in my youth.
Lovely thread Tony.
I inherited the family 35mm slide album some years ago and had them digitised, I look at it some times with sad nostalgia, my parents young and happy me and my sister having a great childhood, so carefree, this one stands out though, mid to late 1970s I would guess, I distinctly remember getting the set, my Dad was a air traffic controller in the RAF so this had that connection for his control tower, certainly were simpler times, I look at the vast Lego sets my kids have and they always want more, I was more than happy with this set.
Cheers..

Me and my little brother in the late 80's. Snaggles (the Mirror Dingy) is now in my garage with all of the paint stripped off. I'm restoring her to teach my boys, who are a similar age to that photo to sail.

Here's a 1955 photo of my childhood family behind our house in Hudson, Wisconsin (USA). I'm the little devil on the lower right!
Great thread. Two from me which bring back great memories

The only one I could find on my phone. I’m in the middle and still obsessed with dogs now.
Scary first days of school!
We were all terrified! It shows!!!
Taken by me on a box brownie at our house just outside Kuala Lumpur in 1958. My father was seconded from the RAF to head up Engineering Branch in the newly formed Royal Malaysian Air Force, and treated himself to this brand new Plymouth Belvedere. He subsequently brought it back to the UK, and our next stop was RAF Church Fenton in Yorkshire.
A "snake" belt by any chance? The "S" connector looked like a snake.

This one brings back memories of mum, she was very proud of her 15 minutes of fame! April fools day (apt as I'm in there too) 1962.
I don't remember this one but my dad never went anywhere (including taking his son to the loo it seems) without his camera.
This one I do remember, Christmas day 1973, I still have the book somewhere.
