About £10 here for that if you mean a jumbo sausage too.

£13 here for a cod and chips, Harrow, Greater London.
around £8 here in the west midlands - that comes with a wheelbarrow full of chips in most places ( most chippies also do a mini fish and chips for about £4.50 which is enough for one person)
This thread allowed me to confirm that £15.50 last night purchased the previously mentioned 2 x cod, 1 x large chips, 1 x saveloy and a curry sauce.
Slowest service ever as all cooked fresh & served in order of arrival, which is nice. I did however feel for the chap who came in and ordered chips & a can of drink & had about 8 orders ahead of him to get cooked.
I remember when i lived in Holland i8n the 1980's ,mayonnaise was the order of the day on chips .
If you weren't quick enough to say "no mayo " you ended up with a bleddy big ladle full of the gunk on your chip's .
Pretty sure our resident car genius Thiestur will have had this delightful local cuisine .
I love mayo on chips, always on the table at home or requested when out.
My wife can destroy a frankly disgusting amount of ketchup with fish and chips. If they deliver in a small pot rather than a bottle it is often a little embarrassing.
If at a pub, I will often request mayo & ketchup on her behalf under the pretence of having with my meal.
Absolute wind up when you're out to eat and they bring you the little ketchup dish for two people, particularly when there are two of you with burgers or fish and chips. I always send them back for another two or three.
They have been for decades, haven't they?
I recall that when we had a local f&c shop here, which was more than 21 years ago now, they'd put the pies, still in their plastic bags(!), in the heater cabinet. (Just like in the pic above)
I assume that it helped stop them from dehydrating as they sat being irradiated by the infra red...
Closest to me is in High Barnet
£12 for cod and chips.
£8.70 for the cod and £3.30 for the chips.
They’re not brilliant either .
When I was growing up my parents had a chip shop. Fish, chips, peas, pies, puddings. Not burgers, sausage, kebab, chicken, deep fried mars bar. I want a chip shop to concentrate on fish and chips not a variety of other foods.
We popped in to get fish and chips last night on our way home, 2 fish and chips, 1 jumbo, ( for the dog ), pickled egg and large curry sauce, £17.80, didn't really enjoy it as the fish actually had very little flavour, you'd think that was hard to do wouldn't you, to make fish taste bland, lol.

Reminds me of a joke, queue of people in a shop and someone tries to push in, voice says, " do you like fish? if so, there's a plaice at the end of the queue.
The old ones are the best.
My regular Saturday evening purchase has just gone up from £9.80to £11.50
