Since the question keeps coming up, I added a description of the reservation process for the first 50 pieces in the first page of this thread.

Yep, fortunately or unfortunately for different people.
Looking towards end of the month.

Thanks Rick
Updated first page with Eddie's picture of the corrected dial.
Having had a mark XII and a mark XV in the past, I can hardly wait! :) ( Love the 'Great Britain' at either side of 6.00)
I really like the look of onion crowns on these pilot watches.
Will it be possible to replace the standard SB3 crown with an onion crown ?
If so, are they all standard sizes and therefore can be sourced from anywhere or will it have to be offered by Eddie to make it a viable option.
My opinion is that an onion crown would significantly detract from the 'classicality' of this SB3, I do not think it would look right at all! :bounce:Originally Posted by Spy
Is the dial on this going to be soft iron like the PRS-14? I think the dial colour and texture on the PRS-14 is one of its greatest strengths and the extra prominence its gets on a watch like this would be even better. The thickness of the dial in the drawing and the anti-mag spec suggest as much, but I don't remember seeing it confirmed.

It is soft iron and it has an anti-magnetic movement cover.Originally Posted by raysablade

Updated first page with these details. Probably a pointless exercise at this stage of the project since the release is iminent. Just doing it to be complete.Originally Posted by swanbourne

And for the wag who will shortly ask for the weight of the bracelet(without springbars), the answer is 85.1g or in old money 3.0 oz.
How sad is that, having these answers? Lol!
That doesn't add up to the weight qouted by Eddie of 165 gOriginally Posted by KavKav

That would explain it then.
My scales are accurate to one tenth of a gram :toothy7: and are in current calibration . :laughing6:Originally Posted by Ron Jr

My pleasure, friend!Originally Posted by Ron Jr
I just made what I think is the last update to this Speedbird III spec thread which just informs people to refer to the Timefactors site for the definitive specification. While it's been fun to track the development here, Eddie's information on the sales site is truly the last word on this.
Rick
Expert guys can you say a few words concerning the time accuracy of the SBIII. Is it a good time keeper?
thanks
It is as good as the ETA 2482-2 ever is. At the moment unadjusted versions seem to be running well under +/1 20s a day. Mine, the non-LE version, is under 10s a day. Adjusted and you can get it down to one or two seconds a day.
I have adjusted mine to around 1 or 2 seconds fast / day.
Impressive facts

I have had two so far - both were 20s a day fast.
On the first one I had my watchmaker (very trusted an recomended) do some adjusting - but it didnt get much better - sounds strange but I am sorry I dont really remeber the facts. On the second one I didnt even try, I was just mad about the +20s as I thought the first one was just an exception.
I badly do want a speedbird - well actually I want a Mark15 but I wouldnt spend 2000+ on an ETAbased watch.
So my next try will be a LE which came with COSC-movements.
Cheers
The ETA2824 is supplied 20 seconds fast by default. I've got mine to +3 seconds adjusting it myself, if your watchmaker can't do the same I wouldn't take him anymore watches.Originally Posted by EliStone

+1
I have adjusted mine to pretty much +/- 5 MYSELF! And I'm no watchmaker, used the trial/error method!
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
great watch for very reasonable price.
Very interesting the material: stell 316l same as rolex
I thought Rolex's used 904L steel????Originally Posted by stefanauz
How long is the supplied bracelet on the SB3? I'm wondering if it will fit my 8.5"-9" wrist.
It really looks great ...
If only I WAS RICHER
is this a 'homage' watch?
It follows in the style of the IWC XV with an uprated spec case, excellent bracelet though not IWC's version of the ETA 2824-2.
This is a lovely watch. I like the idea of no brand appearing on the dial!
You've asked this question about two watches now, have you read the forum for answers before asking?Originally Posted by UKWatchGuy

I like the look of this alot, classy piece. Will have to investigate further!
It's easy. Give Eddie some money and he'll send you one. It's worth it. 8)
Was looking at buying this for weeks, until tried a DA36 and realised the size might be too small to wear as a daily beater. (they should be VERY similar in size? 40mm vs 39mm)
Would love to take a look at one in person; hopefully someone wil bring one along the next meet :!:
Tried searching for this info on the forum and through Timefactors, but to no avail:
Does Eddie do custom engravings on the caseback of his new watches?
If this info has been circulated, then don't shoot me

Beautiful bracelet.
