Awaiting delivery of an iPhone 13 Pro that I ordered last week. It’s a bit of a leap from the iPhone 6 I’ve had for the last three years.
Sounds like a duff unit, a shame. I don't have the calls issue but did on my pixel 5, and the finger reader is indeed naff

No had any issues with my 6, apart from the fingerprint not working with the screen protector. Wish they had kept the scanner on the back like the 5!
I'm glad you like it Rod, a great phone but literally after 2 days my hand started to ache because I found it was too small after being used to the 3XL.
My pixel 6 order won't be delivered until late November so I decided to cancel mainly because we need a break away after working flat out for 18 months and the money will be put to better use.
Had the same no signal issue on my Pixel 5 and they swapped it out for me just before I sold it. On the 2XL and 3 I had "no SIM" issues which were also swapped under warranty. Moving to eSIM stopped this.
A fingerprint scanner on the back would have cost them pennies and improved the user experience ten fold, especially with getting the notification window down. Double tapping the back doesn't work nearly as well. Realistically the Pixel 2XL and 3 were the best Pixels so far.
Apple = best phone. Stock/Pixel Android = best OS.
Yeah double tap on the back a lot easier on the 5, two quite large taps for me , I use it for screenshot

Looks like the two 30W chargers I bought are poo

Yes but binned the boxes. Tempted to see if I can give them back anyway.

My only interest in the 6 Pro is the camera, I view it as a phone that can handle calls, messages and email Everything else is secondary although I have found it great in general use. Charging is poor so I am not surprised by the link Wileeey posted above. We went away last night so I used it as an opportunity to test the camera and make a final decision on whether the phone stays or goes. It has exceeded what I thought a phone could do, the computational photography is judged very well, not too heavy-handed or over sharpened with excellent WB and exposure. The images below are all quick snaps with no processing at all. Goes without saying that the phone is staying.

This was around 8pm so well after dark, quite amazing really.

Yes it's very good, I've tried to trick it and it's coping so far

I'm a tad frustrated with the fingerprint scanner in my 6, but that was always going to be the case given how good it is having a reader on the back. I guess they didn't keep one on the back as it's now a single piece of glass?
Apart from that, I'm really enjoying it. It's much smoother and faster than my 5. And now I've settled into my usual use pattern the battery is doing very well. I'm not really a heavy user. I charged the phone while in bed Friday, took it off charge at 7:00am Saturday, it's 7:30pm on Sunday and I have 18% battery left.
I've had no issue with signal or call dropping.

Great pics Dave, those really show off how well-judged the CP is.
The fingerprint sensor hasn't bothered me too much, I just need to get used to giving it a bit longer before removing my finger. I have read that turning up the screen touch sensitivity helps but don't know if this makes it harder to use.
Magic Eraser is fun and works well. I really dislike processing photos and have thousands from my Fuji that I will likely never get around to, so good pics out of the camera with minimal dicking around suits me.
This would take a bit of processing to get right if taken on the Fuji, this again is straight out of the camera.

And gone! (ts amusing that it removed the face from the picture on the left, I only just noticed that)

The safety sign on the bar is gone but you can see the limitations of the algorithm here.

I think the eraser function is best used for small subjects against non-complex backgrounds. It's creating a bit of a noticeable disturbance in those pics, which probably aren't very noticeable on a phone screen but stand out quite a bit on a computer screen IMO. There's also a pair of legs sitting at the table on their own in one of the pics
Can't fault the detail in the pics though. Especially indoors in presumably a relative low light environment. Impressive.
Yes for sure, Magic Eraser needs a predictable background and the second example certainly wasn't that. Still for a quick shot it's ok. The first example was much better but it missed the legs as there was minimal colour contrast. The detail is superb really for a phone camera.
Some info, re.fingerprint scanner...

This is what happens when workplaces only want an echo chamber of toxic positivity.
There will have been people who spoke up for the reader on the back - or at least issues for the in display reader - and were told STFU.
I loved the reader on the back of the 5, plus the double tap the reader for notifications

Love the suggestion "to ensure ... that you’re using a finger that you’ve registered with the phone". I can certainly see how that would help.
I'm enjoying everything about the phone apart from the unreliable fingerprint scanner. But maybe it's coming in future?

I too really enjoy the phone, the fingerprint scanner could be better but I can live with it for the superb camera, thas where it is at for me. I have a few very minor gripes that I cannot sort - no sound-activated shutter, my txts won't import and I cannot work out how to remove the unnecessary app icon lables or the Google search bar that seems stuck at the bottom of the home screen.
You can't remove those unless you use a different launcher, Nova removed labels and the search box, plus you can get a much bigger grid

Couple of days on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. My dream would be stock android on this phone.
You cannot underestimate how good Face ID is. Just wish I could go into developer settings and reduce animations down to 0.5x like I can on Android. Also really wish iOS allowed a row of numbers above the keyboard like Android.
Great camera.

Anyone looking for a screen protector that works with the fingerprint, I can confirm the following works

I'm on holiday and enjoying the new novelty of a waterproof phone. Yes, this isn't a new feature to many, but I've not "used" it before.
Given the phone has to focus through water, I'm quite pleased...

Anyone getting the replacement headphones offer?
Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
I got told as I was applying so would think you will get the original offer

It's rated to IP68, which I understand to be...
6 meaning dust proof and "For an 8 on the IP rating, the IEC demands a device can withstand being submerged in at least 1 meter of water for 30 minutes".
The quote is taken from CNET, but is very similarly worded on many sites.
I'm happy to set a 3 second timer on the camera, submerge and remove.

My take is it can survive accidental submerging for upto 30 mins, protects phone from being dropped in a sink or a toilet etc
I mean it may be fine, probably will be, but it's not designed for deliberate submerging imo and I wouldn't risk it

It's water resistant not waterproof

I have this saved on my phone as a quick reference - use it more than I ever thought I would!!

The phone is IP68 rated. The water rating is 8.

I'm sure it will manage a quick snap underwater but I wouldn't trust it tbh

Anyone know what this down arrow means?

Could be to launch the app drawer?
Good news on the headphones
