New in today - first new watch for several years. Was bored on a call yesterday and the next thing you know...

Two main reasons: first, I've been reaching consistently for my smaller watches and my (other) diver in particular is a big chunky beast (heading for sales corner when I have time); and secondly, as I get older and my eyesight deteriorates, I struggle to read date windows without my recently acquired reading glasses, which is annoying, particularly when setting a watch I haven't worn for a bit.

Other (real) reason: I rather like it.

    Schofield.

New to me, Schofield DLC, been looking for one for a while. Heads up from Topcat(Tony), of this forum ended up with this arriving Saturday, so again a massive thank you to Tony!

The Incoming / New Arrival Thread

I found a Longines Legend Diver at a reasonable price so I thought I’’d finally buy one new. I think that this may be the 3rd time I’ve purchased one, with the previous two being a bit tatty around the edges which resulted in them being quickly moved on. Hopefully this one will stay a little while !

Very nice - I've had mine 12 years or so and I still think it's one of the most flexible watches there is.

Why? Don’t you like it? Size? Colours? Comfort?

It's not something I will keep as too gaudy. It was no risk as I knew its Limited status meant it was a safe 'flip' if need be.

Good question. My wrist is about 6.75 inches and to be honest I do find the lugs to be a little long. It seems to be ok, as long as it’s worn fairly tightly. A nato may work well too. Really happy with the watch, just not sure in respect of the lugs…..

New arrival via SC. By far the best G Shock I've owned, on another level from even the full metal I owned. So light and comfortable on the wrist.
    Loving it so far!

After a handful of broken promises from Fedex, a neighbour has something for me! I'm not at home tonight but should get home tomorrow in time to slip it into the Friday thread. In some ways the dullest watch I've ever bought but I haven't been so excited about one in years.

Just in, and now on the lake!

    Massive shiny new Seamaster:

Oooo I like that one as well…
I have been keeping my eye open for a vintage Certina, Zodiac etc with the Super DS case for a bit. I almost bought the Heldon version but this looks great, the bezel insert is closer in appearance to the originals.

Lucky indeed. I have owned and sold the GS, lovely watch. I also tried to buy that seiko and you pipped me to in by a couple of minutes. What are your thoughts on it? Do let me know if you get bored of it I would love to try it.

A cracking pair of watches there - could be argued that its a perfect two watch collection! I have the same LX, and absolutely love it. Can't see any difference in quality to the GS spring drive diver I owned. It "dresses down" brilliantly on an Erika's night op's strap, with the added bonus you can get it wet!

Just picked up this lovely Evo from Dean. I previously had an Avantage on rubber but this is a league above, especially with the bracelet.

Not really important but how is the second hand with regards to markers?

Absolutely bang on all the way around, there's no slack in it at all.

The only disappointments are the bracelet and clasp. A typically Seiko middle finger up to tried and tested standard means of securing bracelet links and a decidedly mediocre clasp conspire to drag the whole thing down but I've solved the problem by putting it on leather.

And mine makes three, but I've been busy with work and home jobs that mine is still in the box! Think I'll wait until tomorrow morning and a coffee to enjoy the unboxing and sizing. But they sure look good in your photos and well worth the seven week wait.

Love them or hate them, my last incoming piece was the Invicta 1953 (31290) 40mm.....after all the hype over this watch since it's release, I manged to pick one up brand new at retail.

To be honest, for the price point this is an excellent watch and very well made considering its an Invicta but hey, a good watch is a good watch irrespectively of how makes it in my opinion.

The 1953 has been in my rotation this past week or so along with my Tudor BB58 & Yema Superman Skin Diver, with the NH35A keeping +/- 4 seconds per day which I can't grumble at.

All in all, the 1953 is a great beater watch that looks pretty cool (thanks to Rolex of course) on the wrist.
