I had forgotten how hilarious it is. A classic.

The camp fire scene after eating “them beanzzz” is hilarious:)

"Excuse me while I whip this out".
One of the most quotable films ever.
"A laurel, and hardy handshake" , hahaha!
F.T.F.A.
Doing the French mistake is my party piece…. I’ve been known to throw it out after a few shandies…
" You said rape twice" ....... "I like rape"
'If you shoot him you'll just make him mad'
Classic film, this and Spaceballs are my two favourite Mel brooks movies
Mel Brooks is a genius.
Cheers,
Neil.
I saw it many years ago at university (early '80s) and thought it was hilarious. When I saw it again a few years ago it barely raised a smile, and I was sadly disappointed, probably more with myself in not finding this classic that funny anymore. I think I need to see it again to see if it is any better.
They have just done an edited version for the snowflakes, it airs tomorrow night from 20:00 to 20:04.
Yeah but I shoot with this hand
FYI
The original version of the Producers is on BBC1 tonight.
Another F-ing funny Mel Brooks film
Hopefully they'll also screen "high anxiety",
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
"You gotta know when to hold em and know when to fold em".
Had a bad day today. Spotted this thread. Watched it again on Iplayer.
So many high points.
I wish I had a pound for every time the line"excuse me while I whip this out" was used/heard.
"Stampeding the woman and raping our cattle"
"Dito"
The list is endless.
Cheered me up no end. The man is a genius?
One of the best. After that. The Producers and Young Frankenstein
DON
Truly one of the most quotable films of all time. I think, after Jaws, this is probably the movie I’ve watched the most times. It’s a lot!
Well, let’s play chess.
Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!
Absolutely hysterical stuff. Brooks is amazingly funny in interviews also … he’s basically just like his films .
“Thank you madam”
“I’m not a madam I’m a concierge!”
Another film but nobody’s mentioned
“It’s good to be the king !”
Treasure of the Sierra Madre?

Released in the US on the 7th of February 1974.
Released in the UK in late June 1974 (the 20th or 23rd, depending on the source) .
I saw it in the ABC Cinema, Kilmarnock on Monday, 30th December that year. (It was a first date with the fragrant Yvonne. It didn't last!)

God darnit, Mr. Lamarr, you use your tongue prettier than a twenty dollar whore.
Rape, murder, arson & rape
It's been too long since I last saw this, wonder if it's on Netflix or Amazon
I wonder how long this movie would be if the “offensive” parts were removed.
No idea how to put little quote marks aside the word offensive.
