Good to see the old timers still doing deals - the Ricoh looks in fab condition.
A friend came round with a few watches and my eyes were taken by these two.
An Invicta surfboard Chronograph in lovely condition and a NOS Ricoh World Timer.
Had to have them both.
In return I gave him a pile of watches to sell for me on his stall at the Birmingham watch fair next month.
Cheers,
Neil.

An interesting pair! The Invicta looks particularly sharp. Both watches have had a very easy life.
That Invicta is so cool, and doesn't have the reliability worries my 70's watches have.
That Invicta is cool. As a matter of interest, what's the movement in it?
In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
I'd have no problem in wearing that Invicta....a really cool watch.

Seems to be a 7733. It's very cool, love the case styling.

I like that Invicta a very lot.
Don't just do something, sit there. - TNH
The invocation seems to share the case with some zodiacs and breitlings of the time.
Probably a valjoux 7733 in there as has been said.
The Ricoh also seems to share the case with some enicars

Both look really nice examples of 1970’s watches. Like the Ricoh most.
Thanks everyone for your interest and comments.
I know vintage watches are a bit of a minority interest on here now although it wasn't always so.
Cheers,
Neil.
Great pair there Neil, lovely case shape on the Invicta, good dimensions too.

Really like the Ricoh, an unusual execution face-wise of a world timer, looks great.
It hasn’t diminished my interest of course, otherwise I wouldn’t be here. The big change is that most of the watches I read about are those that I will never own, whereas previously I could have sought out many of the watches that appealed to me.
That invicta is beautiful, four words I thought id never say!
Very nice both of them, but I particularly like the Ricoh.
Two 'proper' watches there, Neil.

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
Like both of those, although my collection is mainly modern stuff the watches I really enjoy are vintage. I'm an absolute sucker for vintage chronos.
Thanks.
Ricoh are a typical Japanese brand who make a bit of everything; cameras, copiers and watches. Although I believe they only made watches during the '60's - '70's.
I find them interesting and like a lot of their output. I also have this Spacer II auto in original condition complete with faceted crystal.
Cheers,
Neil.
Love the Ricoh, yours is in much better condition than mine:
The Invicta look Fantastic, a quality case outside a quality movement.
I love seeing older watches shown on here, from brands you never see or hear of anymore.
It’s much more interesting than “I got the call” “new arrival (enter the same divers watch over and over again)” “what is the best investment”
Interest in older watches takes a bit of effort to research, compare and track down.
Anyone can walk in to a shop if they have enough cash and walk out with the latest bit of bling.
Great if you like that sort of thing but it takes the fun out of the hobby for me.
